This audiobook version of As A Man Thinketh is true to the original. Every word written by James Allen is spoken with clarity and authority by the narrator, making it easy to remember the information and absorb the timeless wisdom.
This short audiobook, originally published in 1902, has had a huge impact in the field of personal development. It is regarded as one of the most important books of the new thought era. It's written in such a way that makes it easy to understand the most powerful message you could ever learn.
The introduction of the audiobook summarizes the idea beautifully:
Mind is the Master-power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass.

I love the comparison between mind and garden. How we grow has to do with what we choose to cultivate and what we choose to weed out. The message really resonated with me and had a strong immediate effect on my consciousness. We easily forget our own power and this is a good reminder, a small step back to get a clearer view. It's short and it is a pleasure so I'll probably listen to it again.
I think his pacing is just right.
Yes, but I didn't seat, I went for a walk, that is why I use audiobooks.
The narration by Brian Holsopple was exceptionally good. It makes it a joy to listen to this audiobook over and over again.
The story is succinct and to the point. It covers the most important aspects of taking control of our own minds, with poetic and evocative language.
Brian Holsopple has an excellent voice for narration and paces the reading of the book perfectly.
This book helps me to find resolve and focus when I find my mind wandering to dark and destructive places. It gives me peace of mind.
If you value being in control of your mind, but sometimes struggle with maintaining that focus, this book will quickly help you get back on track. It's a masterpiece of writing, narrated with excellence.
This book exceeded my expectations. This is a very necessary message for the world today. Own the life you created for yourself. If you don't like your life then change. Excellent book!
"Great timeless book and very good narration"
I like the narration. I listened to several excerpts and this is one of the best narrations for this book.
This book is about changing your character and have it reflect in your external circumstances. I find it more practical than some of the other 'law of attraction' books so I'll even compare it to a very practical self-help book like On Form by James E. Loehr and Tony Schwartz.
I liked the commanding voice of the narrator compared to many other audio books I've listened to.
"Positive thoughts & self determination"
excellent book which i found extremely relevant despite being written about 100 yrs ago. I found it an excellent accompaniment to Full Catastrophe Living by Jon Kabat-Zinn
"Principles to live by"
A good listen.
Short. Full of principles to live by.
Have already listened twice, and on second listen got even more.
I suspect that the more I listen, the more I will hear.
Highly recommend this book.
The other book that's 3rd best from the Bible.
I love the wisdom in this book, so profound.
I listen to this book everyday to work in my car, got it on repeat everyday, I kid you not.
This book is life if you follow the principles.
I really struggled to stay focused while listening to this book. I listened to it four times full of will to learn and listen but my mind kept wandering off. Not really on point. But there are good points in there.
You are (indeed) what you think. Timeless classic for all generations. You will not be disappointed
"Enjoyable and peaceful"
Really glad that I have just finished this book in one sitting. Need to read after reflections. Lot of food for thought.
Excellent !! Everyone in the world should listen to this. The world would be a wonderful place if the lessons were applied.
"Exceptional and timeless"
I have read many thought based philosophical books, this is a true classic and shows the principles are the same 100 years ago as they are now !
"Still relevant in the modern world."
Short but definitely powerful, still relevant in today's modern society. Well worth a listen to :)
