This is a basic companion to As I Lay Dying, the bulk of which is summaries of all the chapters. This would help beginning students who perhaps struggle with Faulkner's form. This does not offer anything in the way of in-depth analysis, but it doesn't purport to. It raises a few thoughtful issues and questions at the end.
The narrator has a clear, pleasant voice, but mispronounces a few of the names. Most notably he calls Anse "An-see," when it should be pronounced like the word "ants." It's a little humorous but also rather endearing.
Overall, a simple but helpful aid for first-time readers of Faulkner.
