Publisher's summary

Paul Bäumer is just 19 years old when he and his classmates enlist. They are Germany’s Iron Youth who enter the war with high ideals and leave it disillusioned or dead. As Paul struggles with the realities of the man he has become, and the inscrutable world to which he must return, he is led like a ghost of his former self into the war’s final hours. All Quiet is one of the greatest war novels of all time, an eloquent expression of the futility, hopelessness and irreparable losses of war.

Amazing book

This should be required reading for every politician who pounds the war drums. This work is heart wrenching and visceral. Amazing from start to finish.

The title to this famous book put me off but I thought it was excellent and a very good translation.

Amazing story and performance I enjoyed it.

This was a great story and shows the thoughts of a soldier. This should be required reading for college but sadly is not.

Very provocative read

Very clearly spoken with an appropriately somber tone. While I understand its critiques from the medical field, I think it is still an invaluable piece if taken as a soldiers perspective and not a field study war politics. I could hardly stop listening, and in fact listened to more than one chapter a couple of times (due to its merit, and not conprehension).

Stop whar you are doing and listen to this book

This is an absolutely beautiful book with images and poetry that moves one to greater thoughts. Although the subject is dire, every high school student and parent should be exposed to the questions this book raises.

Frank Muller's narration is mesmerizing, it is worth listening to for Frank's voice alone.

Novel about WWI...Gripping...De-Glorifies War.

Prose very simple & elegant, though the subject matter is war. A cautionary-tale about how destructive to a soldier's psyche war can be. Well-narrated.
