One of the most interesting Americans who lived in 19th century was a man by the name of Russell Herman Conwell. He was born in 1843 and lived until 1925. He was a lawyer for about 15 years until he became a clergyman.
When Doctor Russell H. Conwell talked about each of us being right on our own "acre of diamonds" he meant it. This story does not get old...it will be true forever.... Opportunity does not just "come along". It is there all the time - we just have to see it.

We’ve all done it and wondered why later. That is we’ve left where we were at because it looked better on the other side of the ‘bridge’. We get there and do the same thing we did before on the ‘other side’. Instead of preparing ourselves for crossing the ‘bridge’ where we can achieve our goals and dreams. Where we can work diligently, patiently and intelligently toward our goals. I can’t count how many people I know have left their ‘diamonds’ laying there because they simply wouldn’t look or plan. Let no one hold you back and when you do move, move with a PLAN!
I was expecting to hear the speech of acres of diamonds. Instead what I received was an overview of the acres of diamonds speech with an infomercial trying to sell me on a personal mentor.
I was enjoying the book until the narrator started selling his coaching company. Acres of Diamonds was a short reminder of how we need to be patient We need to mine the stones that will be diamonds if we take the time to polish working hard and being patient. Don't look at others good fortunes wishing they were yours. Look to see what good fortune you can make for yourself as it's there to be found. On a final note have no respect for the intention behind this story.
Cool story, shame on Audible for selling a 20 minute book!
Interesting point/story, too short.
I'm amazed Audible actually sells this book! It's a business after all, and some of the books are better deals than others, but 20 MINUTES! Guess there wasn't much more to say abou this topic...
