Publisher's summary

It's the most wonderful time of the year on Castle Street, and there's a paw-some new business opening....

It had always been Tabby's dream to work with cats and an inheritance from her beloved nanna has finally made that a reality. Idyllic Castle Street in Whitsborough Bay couldn’t be a better place for pastry chef Tabby to open a cat café with her boyfriend, Leon.

But when Leon leaves her in the lurch, the pressure mounts for Tabby. With Christmas fast approaching, she has to open the café on her own – a daunting prospect, especially when she's been hiding her health issues from the ones she loves.

Faced with local resistance to the café – and somebody seemingly determined that she won’t succeed – Tabby will need her friends, family and cats more than ever to recover her broken Christmas spirit and pull together for a Christmas miracle.

Will the cat café bring the festive joy to Castle Street as Tabby had hoped or will it be a cat-astrophe? And can the magic of Christmas on Castle Street mend Tabby's broken heart as well as her business?

Escape with million-copy bestseller Jessica Redland this Christmas for the purr-fect festive treat!

Love how she keeps building on all these wonderful stories and characters!!

My only complaint is that I finish the books too fast!! Another wonderful book about castle street and I definitely don’t like cats so that shows you how much I love the author ha ha!

Another wonderful trip to Whitsborough Bay

Beautiful story. I love hearing about previous characters we have learned about throughout the Whitsborough Bay series. I loved learning about spoon theory and that the book wasn’t predictable. I look forward to the next Jessica Redland novel and am grateful for the beautiful narration.

Lovely story, characters, & narration!

A charming story of a "cat lady" surviving the ups & downs of modern life. I found the characters resilience especially hopeful as all the residents of Whitsborough Bay always deal with life head on. If you are a cat lover- stay with it until the end...you will not be disappointed! Lovely story to listen to after shopping & baking with a hot cup of tea or chocolate! And don't miss out on the other stories of the shops at Whitsborough Bay! 🎄

So boring

I did finish this book. However it was very hard to finish. It was mostly about fibromyalgia and its effects. I would have appreciated a trigger warmer for an animal passing.

Lovely christmas story

This is a somewhat light hearted cat story but most enjoyable. The antagonist was just the right amount of trouble.

if u like Diseases stories of love

I didn't like how it was mostly focused on a Illness the most instead of it being on the fact of Christmas. if I had to say the cats got 50% the love got 20% and Christmas/ winter only git 5% of this book. I was honstly hoping for more Christmas and cats and not a book on illness. it also aggravated me that the leading lady was so stupid about the love of Tom Cat. that I wanted to shake her.

PURRFECT!

I LOVED this story❣️. I am one of those crazy cat ladies like the main character, Tabby. Also like Tabby, I am a long time sufferer of fibromyalgia. The main character, Tabby, is living what should be MY life.

I have always wanted to live in a quaint English town near the water and own a cat cafe. I dream of a cafe filled with cats, delicious coffee and desserts, and in MY dream, a good selection of books (because really, what’s better than a warm, purring cat on your lap and a wonderful book in your hand)?

I was angry for Tabby when the boyfriend bailed on her at the last minute, but as always, something even better came along — a sweet, loving guy who loves cats too and wanted to be an important part of the dream!

I loved the personalities of the cats and Tabby’s ability to speak as she thought the cats would if they had human voices.

I wanted to strangle the crazy, vengeful woman who let the cats outside because of her paranoia and anger. My heart was so sad thinking not all the cats would make their way back to the cafe. And, I nearly cried when one DIDN’T make it.

In the end, Tabby and Tom got their happy ending (you KNEW they would)! I was however, disappointed in Tabby’s decision to let go of the cafe and the reason WHY she made that decision, especially because she had such unconditional love and help from her family and new boyfriend. But, ultimately Tabby ended up living my OTHER dream: moving into a farm and starting a cat rescue!

I have two complaints about the book. There was too much “cuteness” in the repetitive cat play on words. After a while I began to roll my eyes at “Tabby Cat” and “Tom Cat,” and words such as “pawsitivity” and “catitude.”

Secondly, and this is a BIG complaint, as a fellow fibro sufferer, there was just WAY too much focus on this in the story and the fact that Tabby used her illness to practically disable herself (self-proficacy).

While flare-ups can be difficult and miserable, this book described Tabby as practically permanently bedridden. I’m sure that of the 4.5 million Americans that suffer from this disease, there are some with symptoms so bad they ARE effectively incapacitated. However, MANY of us, even those with more severe cases of fibromyalgia, manage to grit our teeth, smile and push our way through our worst symptoms. We go to work, do the grocery shopping after work, we take care of our children, cook and do the laundry even if we are having a horrible episode.

Tabby’s character portrays fibro sufferers as a bedridden PITY cases. My fibro is fairly severe, but I didn’t like the repeated depiction of all of us being VICTIMS. We are just people with a diagnosis who choose to LIVE their lives to the fullest possible extent. However the facts on fibro provided by author was otherwise accurate in saying that bouts with fibromyalgia are most likely due to overexertion and emotional stressors. Too much physical exertion and mental stress or upsets are the most common triggers of fibro bouts.

Overall though, I enjoyed the storyline very much — the parts about the cats and how much they were loved and cared for, warmed my heart. As a cat rescuer, the information about taking care of very young kittens was SPOT ON. Bottle feeding very young kittens is my favorite part of rescue! The last time I had to bottle feed kittens, I only had THREE kittens; for several months life was CRAZY trying to keep everyone’s tummies full, reading about her SEVEN bottle babies, I really FELT for Tabby and Tom! For months I deny that j did was make baby bottles, wash baby bottles, clean beds and LAUNDRY. Lord, did I have laundry!🙀. I can’t imagine doing all that with four MORE kittens! Reinforcements would have been needed for sure!

As always, the narrator for these stories did a wonderful job! Initially, when I started these books, I found the narrator and her English accent a bit difficult to understand. But, by the end of the fist book, I had no issue understanding her accent at all.

Despite a few complaints (based ONLY on personal experiences), I loved this book and would recommend it to others.💕
