Publisher's summary

If you want to learn Chinese in less time while also enjoying yourself, then keep reading....

What is the best way to learn Chinese? We should remember how we learned our own language when we were children. If we could learn a second language in the same way, it would not seem so difficult.

Think of what a child does; he or she listens to what people say and tries to copy the words. When he or she wants something, they have to ask for it. They are using the language, speaking it, and thinking in it all the time. Thus, if a second language is also used as frequently, it will be learned very quickly.

The main purpose of this audiobook is to provide you with a platform to improve your listening skills and your ability to use Chinese comprehensively so that you can easily listen and learn.

In Chinese Short Stories: 11 Simple Stories for Beginners Who Want to Learn Mandarin Chinese in Less Time While Also Having Fun, you will encounter rich and new but not too complex vocabulary, which is translated at the end of the section, avoiding the hassle of having to stop the rhythm to look up every word. Everything is translated, as well as the summary of the story, thus providing a clearer comprehension of each sentence, while trying to prevent the temptation that the listener might have, if discouraged, of giving up and listening the whole story in English.

So if you want to learn Chinese while having fun, get this audiobook today!

Narration is Horrific

The narration is horrific. I thought that perhaps it was that it was so slow. I sped it up, and it still sounds horrific. The tones sound flat for Chinese. The sentences sound unnatural. It sounds like someone is reading their Chinese homework for their Chinese teacher. The voice is grating. I can speak better.

I found the stories enjoyable. However, the material was not well organized. Again, I can do better.

I was really looking forward to listening to some Chinese short stories while driving in my car. Oh, well.

Buenas historias, mal acento

Como narradora de las partes ingleses, fue genial. Me gustó las voces que dio a los personajes de la historia.

Sin embargo, no me gustaba su actuación en las partes chinas porque su acento inglés era extremadamente fuerte y no pronunció los tonos correctamente. En chino, los tonos son muy importantes porque pueden cambiar el significado de una palabra.

Si quieres estudiar chino, se puede comprar el libro en Kindle. No hace falta que compres este audiolibro.

Really good tool!

I almost didn't buy this audio because of other reviews but this was perfect for me. It's a little challenging and I don't understand everything but there is plenty of English explanation. Any level of Chinese learner will benefit from this book.

no PDF?

This is probably fine if you already have acquired 1000 words or so, I imagine. If you are a beginner (like the title suggests this is for), you will be lost : no pictures, no words to follow along with; they give a verbal translation but not soon enough (I'd recommend after each short sentence). It's useless to me now. Maybe later. I can't recommend this to beginners. Plus the stories are for kiddies, not really interesting for adults who aren't entertained by stories of talking mice.

Pronunciation isn’t correct, unfortunately

Unfortunately, I was very excited to listen and study as a language learner, but I was informed by a native speaker the pronunciation isn’t correct. The tones are wrong (or perhaps a non-standard regional variation) and will lead those trying to learn to have non-standard pronunciation, and newbies if trying to find some words using pinyin will not find the correct characters and meaning because the tones aren’t correct if just listening and searching Pleco.
