Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Lynn Cahoon introduces a new heroine with her own special brand of culinary magic in this novella, the first entry in the Kitchen Witch Mystery series.

When Mia Malone's grandmother asks her to take a week away from her restaurant job and come to Magic Springs, Idaho, she's happy to oblige. Like Mia, Grans has witchcraft running through her veins, and life with her is never boring. Plus, the cause is a good one - helping Grans get the local food bank up and running again. But there's an unappetizing surprise in store. While Mia is knee-deep in boxes of donated produce, she encounters the body of Dorian Alexander.

Dorian was a warlock, leader of the local coven. He was also her Grans' new beau. There's no potion that'll make this trouble disappear. But if Mia wants to keep her Grans - now a prime suspect - from serving a spell in prison, she'll have to unearth the real killer fast....

GREAT TEASER FOR A NEW SERIES

THIS IS A PROMISING NEW SERIES. THE GLIMPSE WE GET OF THE CHARACTERS, SETTING, AND PREMISE ARE INTERESTING. I GAVE IT 4 RATHER THAN 5 STARS BECAUSE I AM NOT A FAN OF NOVELLAS. THIS PREVIEW IS MORE THAN A SYNOPSIS BUT LESS THAN A FULL INTRODUCTION. I AM CONFIDENT A FULL BOOK WILL WARRANT A FULL 5 STARS.

Fun Light Listen

Cozy Mystery with a bit of fantasy mixed in to give it a bit of flavour.

Ok

Not as good as the Tourist Trap mysteries and wonderful narrator there. But somewhat better then the narrator for her other series Cat Latimore narrator! It’s hard to get into a story when the narrator isn’t that great - story I think would be better if better narrated

Can’t wait to start the next in series

Lynn Cahoon has crafted a wonderful little story to start her Kitchen Witch Mysterjes series. The characters are well developed and the main character seems more like a friend rather than a mere character.
Angie Hickman gave a nice performance as she breathed life into the storyline, giving distinct voices to each character along the way.
I highly recon this book /audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

Short by sweet

Starting a new series with a novella is different but gives a small peek into it. That is what we get for meeting Mia and the people of Magic Springs. Cannot wait to to see what happens in a full book.

Has potential for a fun series

I was a little leary at first, then while listening went out of cell coverage and decided to finish. in the end it was not close to my original thoughts. I'm hoping book 1 will work out to be the start of a fun series.

So Disappointed!

I am a HUGE Lynn Cahoon fan; however, this book was not good. The story fell flat, the narration was off, and the characters made me dislike them all. I returned the first book in this series after listening to this one. Ugh!
