Publisher's summary

The second book in Penny Jessup’s best selling The Alpha’s Son series.

It’s been three months since their kiss on the beach and Max hasn’t heard a whisper from Jasper.

With Christmas fast approaching, and despite vowing he would chase Jasper to the ends of the world, Max is ready to give up. Until Alpha Jericho announces he’s sending a select envoy of Elite Pack wolves to an allied wolf-pack stationed high in the rocky mountains, where they will bear witness to a Blood Moon. A week in a cozy ski-lodge sounds as romantic as you can get, so Max decides to give things with Jasper one last shot.

But life in the mountains is rockier than expected and finding alone time with Jasper is harder than Max thought. Political unrest between the packs is galvanizing Jasper’s determination to keep them apart, and new and old suitors are emerging in the pursuit of Jasper’s affections.

Running headfirst into snow storms, Max begins to question if the destiny he’s been chasing is what he really wants. And when the Blood Moon arrives, bringing irrevocable change that no one saw coming, Max and Jasper’s connection will be put to the ultimate test.

Will they find the path between souls among the snow covered peaks or will the mountain roads lead them to an unexpected destiny?

The suspense!!

This book was amazing! So much emotion and twists you don't expect that work out so incredibly! Then the cliff hanger that has you angry because you just want more! I am hoping the third comes out sooner then the projected date but I will listen to these two books serveral times before then!

You really had me for a moment

There were so many points I wanted to walk away with Max but dang they managed to got me on the edge of me see up to a heart-wrenching end. I forgot how chaotic it is to be a teenager.

Improved Character Development

In this second book, the author does a much better job developing the characters. It makes it much easier to feel emotionally invested in the story.

Eyeballs are permanently stuck rolled back

Somebody PLEASE get this SIMP ass BITCH a pair of nuts! Oh dear lord I can NOT stand the MC and his extremely immature personality. He reads like he’s an abused abandoned kitten - not a damn werewolf! I felt so bad for the parents I was SCREAMING at my phone “JUST TELL THEM YOU A LIMP WRIST BITCH” !!!

That aside, it’s a very enjoyable (surprisingly not as predictable as I thought) read/listen

A 2nd disappointing ending...

I don't know what to say. It left me wanting. In a bad way. The world building is fantastic and the characters have depth......eventually...but what a horrible ending. Her first book too. I had to gritt my teeth through most of the relationship and watch the main character be tortured for so long...I just kind of wanted it to be over. But then the ending dragged on and on...and on...then in the last 10 minutes we get a very abrupt HFN.... There was so much time devoted to hurting the main character and making him feel worthless...by the end you just get a really bad taste in your mouth. Fingers crossed you take book 3 in a completely different direction. I was so over it by the end...I don't know how the MC didn't just kill someone or throw himself off the roof honestly......

Consistency

This story gets better and better! Penny Jessup is on point and this story flows from the first book and the continuity is outstanding. The narrator brings you into the storyline, and makes you feel everything that these characters are feeling throughout the entirety of this second book! Looking forward to book 3
