Publisher's summary

Overcome by the cares of life, David escaped to the cave...a place of refuge.

Are you under assault? Do you need an escape - a place where everything you are, and everything you are not, is acceptable? Cavetime is God's plan for man's escape from life's assaults.

When David was under assault and mere steps ahead of death, he escaped to a place that was familiar to him - the cave, a place of refuge. As a shepherd boy, the cave was where he heard the voice of the Lord, wrote songs and poems, and received his courage, strength, and boldness to kill the lion, the bear, and Goliath. Overcome by the assaults of debt, distress, and discontentment, the greatest warriors of the day were also searching for a refuge - a place where they could find their strength, honor, and bare their souls without judgment. They found refuge and safety in the cave. Something happened in the cave, because later they were referred to as mighty men.

Today, men are under assault. Blitzed by cultural and spiritual expectations to succeed, most men feel they must present themselves as the perfect man with everything under control. They are defined by jobs, titles, bank accounts, houses, and cars. As husbands, fathers, and spiritual leaders, men are expected to instantly have all the answers. Believing the lie of the enemy of their soul, they become isolated, fearing they won't measure up. Men need a refuge, a place of safety, a place of escape.

Come to the cave...God is waiting for you there.

Great read/listen for men and women or love them

Jeff Voth's CaveTime book is really great. All of his suggestions are spot on and the detail of the five stones is also really good. I plan to reread this book a few times to really help the information sink in and my hope is to apply all of the teachings to the best of my ability. If you are a man and trying to build a relationship with God you can't go wrong starting or picking up here. As for the women in your life, she could learn so much about how men approach relationships and build their faith by also reading this title as well. Although the book is more masculine focused a lot could be learned by both sides as the stones and his stories could and can relate to anyone. I encourage you to give this a listen and experience Jeff's passion as he tells you about CaveTime and building a solid foundation for your relationship with our Heavenly Father.

It’s a 5-Star gold mine that is full of basic knowledge of David’s life and how we as men can join David and the Band of Brothers in the cave. Powerful book for guys & their wives

Even as a married gal, with a 22 yo son, I loved this book talking about guys, cave time and the 5 stones needed in life! Prof /Pastor Voth was one of our son Guy’s favorite professors at ORU! And I enjoy reading some of Guy’s college books occasionally when they’re not too scientific, + love getting to know what my guys need in life. Thank you Dr. Voth for shepherding so many students in Tulsa, and equipping them for life. We appreciate your influence on men of all ages. - Anita McGuire
