Publisher's summary

The breathtaking sequel to the stunning By Ash, Oak and Thorn, from acclaimed nature writer and Costa Award-shortlisted novelist Melissa Harrison.

As autumn begins, Moss and friends travel to their former home in Ash Row to find the rare mortal child who can both see and talk to them.

The tiny beings know they should be brave and talk back - this is their chance to help reverse the fading of ancient Cumulus, who has now almost disappeared entirely.

But they soon realise fading is connected to their role in the world.... Can the Hidden Folk prove that guardians of the Wild World are needed after all?

A tale of disappearing wilderness that couldn't be more relevant in today's environmental crisis, brought to life for children by three funny, eternal tiny beings - the hidden folk.

I wish every adult and child would listen to this book…

While written for children, this book is appropriate for all humans. This powerful little story talks about how courage, love, and vulnerability are necessary to navigate this thing called life. The narrator is fabulous and the musical accompaniment is delightful. A full 5 stars!

This is one of the best books I've ever read & listen to. I feel it was very well written and narrated.
This book has something good for everyone to feel .
I love nature, and I believe all living things have a purpose. So for me this book was Magical!
It tells a enchanting story about freindship and family on a quest, which made for great story telling.
And this book has both, warmth and heart.

For those who never gave up thinking that the world is enchanting

I grew up on stories that made me care about the wild world. This book is a song of love to my heart, even as an adult listening to it on my own. What I love most is that it teaches one how to actually look, not just to care. the narration is superb and the audio engineering transports you to tue very garden they talk about.

Beautiful commentary on nature

Innocently delightful second book. A great follow up to Ash Oak and Thorn. Will be re-reading for the lovely nature details and feeling of wonder.
