Publisher's summary

Anything can happen during a blackout. Even finding a soulmate.

That's not what Celine Harris had been thinking during the historic Manhattan power outage of 2019. After hours of facing darkness, who would've guessed the first face she'd see would be one she would never forget!

Musician Garreth King had just come from a tour only to end up on a New York subway to sit in the dark. But it had been well worth the wait after he spotted the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen.

As fate sweeps them back into each other's lives, they'll learn that time has nothing on love.

But I'm Not a Robot is a 8,000-word low-angst BWWM romance novella. While there's loving in the book, it's less of the steamy variety known to come from G.L. Tomas. If you want a labyrinth of twists and turns, conflict and drama, this may not be the book for you. But if you just want to enjoy a quick insta-love/lust romance that happens over the course of a few days to renew your hope in love, jump on for the ride!

Ok

Cute novella but needs more added in order to satisfy ending. Narrators did a great job with characters. Need to expand the story.

Short, Sweet, Surprising

I was surprised by the female narrator's voice and loved that it was not as I would expect.

I liked that the male lead was inexperienced and confident. That was interesting.

The authors did not emphasize the serendipitous meetings as magical, but that's how I read it (and they did not need to tell me).

The language of the book was mature, in a ‘big word’ way, for educated readers. I appreciated this about it.

The sex scenes were enough.

The ending, well, perhaps may be the beginning of another book (please)?

Cute but Feels Unfinished

This is a cute story but feels like it's just the beginning of the story. The narrators were decent but I admit while the female did an authentic New York accent without overstating it, I was really distracted by the lisp. I've never heard anything else by this narrator so not sure if she was just doing it "in character" or if it's a part of her actual voice.

Powerful

The book spoke of connection at the soul level. The themes touched on brings awareness to our humaneness. It breaks societal norms on attraction and how quick a relationship can blossom. Thanks for this beautiful story.
