Editorial reviews

For the harried female professional, this will be a welcome source for problem solving, brainstorming, and proven strategies for negotiating a different type of nine-to-five with her employer. Narrator Gabra Zackman sounds soothing and self-assured throughout, a style that underscores the underlying message of the entire narrative: Women are the secret assets of any corporation - as demonstrated by research and autobiographical anecdotes. As the author covers economic analysis, as well as the dilemmas of individual female employees, Zackman's tone is slightly sarcastic when called for. Appropriately, Zackman's voice is firm when delivering the book's bottom-line message that women are major contributors at senior levels of organizations.

Great book

The book was great and the reader starts out great, nice pace. Until chapter1, then she slows to a very slow pace. I have an I pod, so I put the speed on fast. Since I "read" while driving I do not want to fall asleep. At the fast speed I could understand her and stay awake. I recommend the book to all women. Yes I am male. It helped me too. I saw the authors at the College of Notre Dame of MD. They were great. Read chapter 5 GUILT , they do a great job!!!

I really wanted to LOVE LOVE it.

What made the experience of listening to Womenomics the most enjoyable?

Overall; a decent/good "read". The first time I listened to this book, I LOVED IT. However, on listen #2, I found it to be quite unsubstantial and irrelevant on several levels. The book is filled of what I consider opinions and not actual facts (although "factual evidence" is mentioned)...I guess I was just hoping for more.

Would you be willing to try another book from Claire Shipman and Katty Kay ? Why or why not?

No; I didn't like her style.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

NO.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

This is not a date movie.
