    "11 Diseases in Leadership"
    Would you consider the audio edition of Why CEOs Fail: The 11 Behaviors That Can Derail Your Climb to the Top - And How to Manage Them to be better than the print version?

    The audio book was good, but I missed some of the exercises at the back of each chapter that were provided as part of the print edition.


    Any additional comments?

    The book was a good overview of 11 diseases leaders can have at any point in their career as they are growing their organization. Example: Arrogant Leadership, Huge Personality, Perfectionism, Pleaser, etc. The 11 diseases amplify with stress and some of us show more then others at certain points, the key is being able to acknowledge the disease and put them under control.

    The author pitched the importance of coaching and mentioned he offered coaching in managing the 11 diseases as sometimes we have them, but no one within our organization is willing to share with us. He also referenced in the book charts, etc, to self evaluate and manage on your own.

    Quick Hit Take-Aways:

    -CEO's might not make the best managers.
    -CEO's stress will amplify the 11 diseases that clout good decision making.
    -CEO's must lead by leveraging budgets, not by emotions.
    -CEO's must make decisions based on their values, other wise they could be making decisions on conflicting points of views.
    -CEO's must constantly make logical and calculated decisions, but no decision will stop progress.
    -CEO's with low risk tolerance will fail slowly, in a changing world, decisions constantly need to be made.
    -CEO's will face the dilemma of firing loyal under-performers.
    -CEO's that break all the rules, because they created them, are destroying the culture.
    -CEO's who cannot prioritize will confuse their direct reports.
    -CEO's must decide do they want to lead in their industry or simply challenge.
    -CEO's should not seek perfection, only seek perfection in life or death situations.
    -Staff want a confident leader, but not an arrogant leader that will not listen to them.

    Would you listen to Why CEOs Fail: The 11 Behaviors That Can Derail Your Climb to the Top - And How to Manage Them again? Why?

    If I could remember then put into practice this book I would rock.... Very well narrated and written - also entertaining a good "read"
