Best Book to Improve Job Interview Skills

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to friends who want help improving their job interview skills with a great professional guide. I’d recommend this to people who care about getting to be their best at job interviews.

What did you like best about this story?

Essential job interview tips are explained in an entertaining and clear style. This is a challenging topic and the author found a way to make it accessible to both highly experienced job seekers as well as those returning to the workforce. The book works. After listening to it I was better prepared for job interviews for the rest of my life.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite chapter is the discussion of questions to ask the interviewer. I’ve often wondered about which types of questions are appropriate and how many questions to prepare. The author presents great questions to have ready to ask during a job interview. He also gives great insight into the purpose of asking good questions. You’ll be surprised.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved by the way Paul Freiberger made me feel that he cared about me and my job interview success. The examples he gives really worked and have helped me prepare better for job interviews. I also enjoyed his sense of humor which made a serious topic more pleasant.

Any additional comments?

I figured that improving my job interview skills would be a good way to start my job search. I’m a little too busy to read a lot of books but getting this book to listen to was a great solution. Paul Freiberger somehow has gathered all the possible clues you need for all types of job interviews. He event discusses salary negotiation, one area that is challenging for so many of us.

When Can You Start? Ace the Job Interview and Get Hired is both comprehensive and entertaining. The sequence of the book is perfect. Even for someone brand new to the job hunting and interviewing process, this book is a diamond. I honestly didn’t know how much I didn’t know about interviewing.

I will be listening to several of the chapters over and over again because they have exactly the information I need, especially when it comes to preparing the right answer to the most important job interview questions and how to discuss weaknesses or problems during an interview. And trust me I am already planning on how to make this one a great one.

Everything you need to know about job interviews!

What made the experience of listening to When Can You Start? Ace the Job Interview and Get Hired, Third Edition the most enjoyable?

I liked it how it talked about specific companies. It mentioned and explained how other companies hired and interviewed people.

Any additional comments?

Paul Freiberger’s book “When Can You Start? Ace the Job Interview and Get Hired” (Third edition) is a very useful book. This book is a staple book when it comes to your job search and job interviews. It will be your dictionary when it comes to preparing for your interview. Paul talks about his experiences, what he have learned, tips, tricks, and much more. He goes over phone interviews, panel interviews, McKinsey interview etc.. How to prepare for these types of interviews. How to answer questions in an interview. The book is just filled with helpful chapters that will guide you in your job search. Like I said it will be your dictionary whenever you or someone you know is going through a job search process. The book was very helpful to me because I learned about what companies expect from their interviewees and the behind the scenes of an interview. Chapter 13 even goes over Google interviews, which was very helpful. Paul talks about the Google approach that other companies acquired in their interview sessions. I also enjoyed chapter 15 very much because it talked about a lot of tactics such as timing and timing your answer. It also goes over awkward silence with the interviewer etc.. I highly recommend this book to everyone. Because in one point of our lives we will look for new jobs, or need new jobs. We will move on and this book has every information you need to prepare for that interview!
