I love this book but I have to say it really needs to be updated. All of the talk about filing systems and Rolodexes made me laugh. An entire section of the book could be replaced with "get a computer". Was the book written in 2007 or 1997? All joking aside this book does have some great advice.
As a trainer, speaker and coach myself (real estate) I regularly recommend Brian's vast range of audio books to the crowds- why? Because his teaching works! Time Power has to be his best and most indepth look at time management and having listened to all his other audio servings of the same topic (again and again) this audio is the appetiser, entree, meat, potatoes, loads of vegies, the drinks and the desert all in one when it comes to time management! I will need to listen to it a number of times to really start to mine the vast depth of gems Brian has provided at such a very low price!
Brian is definately the best at what he does, my career is certainly far more successful because of his great teaching- thanks again Brian Tracy.
While Time Power suggests many great time saving techniques it seems to drag out far to long. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Brian Tracy and his teachings just not this book. Perhaps if this was the first book of his I had listened to, I would have found it a bit different but the fact is it seems like an extra drawn out version of 'Eat that Frog", a book I would more happily recommend.
recommended reading all of Brian Tracy's work, although he has much of the information repeated in other titles, from my point of view, it just proves that the message is authentic and ties into all aspects of life.
Some of the principles are pretty sound, but some others seem a bit bogus. For example: get up early (ok fine) so that you can work from home 3-4 hours before heading into work, then get to work 1 hour before everyone else, and leave one hour later than everyone else. Well ok thanks, I'll work at least 5 hours more than everyone else, great thinking Einstein! A fair part of the book is focused on sales people which seems a bit useless for others. Take it with a grain of salt, use what's good and leave the rest.
This was an excellent reminder of some things and a great idea for others. I have already put some things in place to help save time for myself and have recommended some things to others to help them. This was a great book.
I like to read anything that improves the mind and anything to do with fitness. My goal is to holistically listen to all interrelated audio books.
This book is on the dot. I've read and listened to several books of his already and is always refreshing and informative. The information you get out of this is practical. As soon as you are done listening to it, you can use the learned skills after you are done with the audio.
I wish I can remember all 8 hours of it, but what I remember most is how to finish BIG tasks single minded before doing anything first. Like I said, it's practical and it worked right away. I mean it's obvious that you have to do the most important tasks first, but there is more to it. Brian Tracy explains it effectively without wasting your time.
I like that he is very calm and informative. He might sound monotone, but I got use to it. His fresh information keeps me glued.
That time can never be bought back .
The book is completely useless! Do not waste your time and credits on it. It’s boring, boring and repetitive: I have been barely able to complete the listening!
A great book in terms of organising, time planning etc. If you feel a bit overwhelmed with things it is also strangely very calming, as it makes you feel you can get through it all as it gives you the mechanisms to work in an orderly, solid and measured why to prioritise and get stuff sorted!
This book contains a ton of usable, relevant ideas and insights to being a more effective and productive person. I've listed to it three times now since buying it (always the sign of a good book) and each time I've taken away ideas that I've applied to my daily working practices. Simple and effective.
"Brian's best book"
If you've not got any of Brian's audiobooks, this is a very good place to start. This one is full of his best ideas. Brian is a very practical man so you won't find any 'Secret' style bumpf here, just usable techniques that we can all implement immediately. Also check out 'Success Mastery Academy' for a more animated Brian in action.
Great book, will recommend to any and everyone who want to organise their lives for family, career and business.
Listening to it I feel like I'm missing out on so many things.. so I might get the hard copy as well.
"This audiobook changed my life"
The simple but highly effective strategies in it. It covers techniques you can use daily to make the most of your precious time but also ones to ensure you achieve your goals and dreams in years to come.
The final chapter summarises the key concepts in the book really well
His passion for his ideas
Using the guidance in the book to set my personal goals and realising a year later that I had achieved them and changed my life for the better in the process
This audiobook completely changed the way I thought about time and made me realise how important goal setting and planning are in life. By embracing and implementing the techniques and philosophies in this book I found and married my life partner, I got a much more satisfying job and I started a life-long journey of personal development.
I re-listen to this audiobook every month to reinforce its message.
I would suggest skipping Chapter 11 (techniques for sales people) and UK listeners: don't let Brian's American accent put you off!
"Good for improving time management skills"
I have wanted to improve my time management skills for a number of years now. Time management has always been something I thought I could do better so I bought this title. After listening I was amazed at how many new ideas I had to help me improve my time management. The section on goal setting was particularly interesting. The action of writing down your main goals each day to cement them into your brain was an excellent idea.
I have been a follower of Brian Tracy for many years and I highly rate his work. There is a section on time management for sales people which might not appeal to everyone but generally the audiobook is suitable for all professions.
