By understanding intersecting potentials that one day may impact your organization, you can readily spot emerging trends and market shifts, uncovering opportunities on the horizon.

Think Like a Futurist explores such questions as: Where will new markets emerge over the next 5-10-25 years? What will be the big issues of the day? How will lifestyle, social mores, and policy adapt? And what role do we play in that future?

  • Offers a clear framework for thinking like a futurist, and direction for how to integrate it in high-pressure corporate environments
  • Explains how the social, economic, and environmental crises of our time spring from just four constant and predictable forces
  • Reveals the three dramatic disruptions on the horizon that should be a part of every strategic conversation
  • Written by Cecily Sommers, the founder and president of The Push Institute, a nonprofit think tank that tracks significant global trends and their implications for business, government, and non-profit

Filled with tools and models for a new world, this book should be required reading for strategists and innovators across disciplines.

    "Horrible"
Would you try another book from Cecily Sommers and/or Matilda Novak?

I suppose this book may have eventually had a point, but if it did, I was way too annoyed to stick with it long enough to hear it. The book rambles without ever making any points. It's like a self help book, that keeps telling you over and over, how much you need the information in the book, but never actually tells you how to help yourself!

What didn’t you like about Matilda Novak’s performance?

OMG! Absolutely hands down the worst reader I've ever encountered. I would never listen to her again. It's like listening to a book read by a TV mattress commercial announcer. I wanted to rip my ears off the sides of my head. Even though I found the text pointless, I may have stuck with it to the end had the reader made not made it unbearable.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No, none that I found, although I didn't finish it.

    "Waste of time"
Would you ever listen to anything by Cecily Sommers again?

Never. This book is a collection of non-sense consultant-speak. From demography to neuroscience, she doesn't actually understand anything that she's talking about. It's just buzz BS and consultant "exercises" to "beak out of your current way of thinking!" Reading this was genuinely a waste of time.
