In the business world, the greatest leaders emerging today are the ones who have learned how to serve their employees, not command them. It's very unusual in the self-help audio book to be entertained and sucked in... but I was from the first few minutes. I didn't want to have to turn it off.
His discussion on the ultimate servant leader and teacher, Jesus.
His personality and witty character. He's the "real deal."
I did chuckle a few times.
Could possibly use some editing - there have been a few places where I think he was meaning to use one word but used another, or repeated phrases or didn't seem very clear. It reduces the professionalism, but only by a margin. He has great delivery.
I wish there were worksheets or downloads to go with this!!
I enjoyed listening and will listen again. The practical section requires a study guide that the audio does not provide. It would be nice that Audible would make this one important aspect possible for download.
The practical part is very usable
Need the study guide.
The booklet with the CD set includes exercises:
Exercise 1 - A Leadership Skills Inventory
Exercise 2 - Leadership Skills Inventory - Self-Assessment
Exercise 3 - Leadership Skills Inventory Summary
Exercise 4 - Leadership Skills Inventory Summary...continued
Exercise 5 - Smart Action Plan
Why is there not a .pdf file included with the audible version?
With a very clear description, passionate and fun, this is one of the best training courses on servant leadership I have ever had. Every phrase is a gem. Very well structured and impecably exposed. A true high impact, life changing experience on this hard to explain -and practice- topic. After hearing this message, I understood that I have a hard -and worthwhile- journey to become an authentic leader.
If you are interested in leadership, this is a must listening course.
It is in my top ten list.
No. I think it should be read over several sitting. There is a lot to absorb.
Excellent information to apply to my life as I continue to grow as a leader. Great reminder of what true leadership is really about... Relationship building to get the job done.
I don't know who would enjoy this. I found its precepts to be rather obvious. Hunter is clearly very enthusiastic about the subject and that's great, but he didn't reach me. During a long section on character, he takes a couple of cheap shots at therapists, nature lovers, and someone else (I cannot remember and don't want to spend the time finding it for the purpose of this review).
Lots of people seemed to like this. For me, it just fell flat. I got halfway through and stopped. I just couldn't take it any more. It was surprising because i was so excited about listening to this, I downloaded and started it immediately. That is uncommon in my busy life.
His performance was pretty good.
