What if the smartest people in the world understand something that the rest of us don't? (They do.) What if they know that in order to achieve success, they will sometimes have to do things that others may initially perceive as stupid? The fact of the matter is that the smartest people in the world don't run from stupid, they lean into it (in a smart way).
In The Power of Starting Something Stupid, Richie Norton redefines stupid as we know it, demonstrating that life-changing ideas are often tragically mislabeled stupid. What if the key to success, creativity, and fulfillment in your life lies in the potential of those stupid ideas? This deeply inspiring book will teach you:
No more excuses. Learn how to start something stupid - the smartest thing you can do. Drawing on years of research, including hundreds of face-to-face interviews and some of the world's greatest success stories past and present, Richie shows you how stupid is the New Smart - the common denominator for success, creativity, and innovation in business and life.

"Richie Norton has written a book about courage. The courage to do work that matters and to do it with your heart and your soul. Go make something happen." (Seth Godin, author of The Icarus Deception)
"I absolutely love this book. . . . It energizes me, inspires me, and gives me confidence. It reminds each of us that all things are possible." (Stephen M. R. Covey, New York Times best-selling author of The Speed of Trust)
Jack of all trades, but expert at none. Newest and lates adventure is learning to fly and rebuilding my business.
Such a great motivational story, full of great antidotes about how to reboot after a traumatic life event.
I was able to relate to the authors central idea.
Worth the investment for anyone starting a business.
Lots of great information. I loved everything about it. It will give you the tools to make it happen from a guy that knows his stuff. I'm glad I took the time to get this one.... you will be too. Get it....Listen... and put it in action.
Initially I was a little apprehensive about it because the title seems provocative and "buzzy", almost like it was just named something absurd so people would read it. But once I got into it I found that there are some deep insights and great research that went into writing it. It made me analyze my life and decide if I am where I want to be, or where life has placed me.
This book was a great listen. I like Richie's enthusiastic narration, but the book sells itself on content as well! Anyone stuck in a life they don't enjoy would benefit from this book.
Live to start, start to live.
Service can open more doors than I initially thought.
If you have ANY ideas in your head that you have yet to act upon, you MUST listen to this book TODAY!
This book presents solid, practical, attainable ways to get your ideas out of your head and into action. Richie knows what he is talking about, LISTEN!
I catch a lot of drive time and enjoy a good listen.
I guess after reading the reviews I was expecting something else. I was looking for more of a living life book. This is more of a business book. It might be what you are looking for but not really for me.
There's a part in the book that talked about the difference between Getting and Receiving, and how pride can get in the way of truly receiving a gift that's offered to you. This hit home!
I highly recommend this book.
Although this book is general since it applies to any stupid idea, it still offered concrete advice to get you going and get you thinking about how to make it happen. A great read!
I loved every second of this book. It has inspired me in so many ways and is helped me to refocus my life on what's really important. Richie Norton's ability to clearly communicate the principles in this book and how to crush fear and start your stupid idea is incredibly unique. Here's to living with no regrets! Thanks Richie!!!
This book is crap. There's no original thought or storytelling here. Regurgitating stories found on the internet is not inspiring or good writing.
