In all cases, the authors provide step-by-step guidance based upon personal experience. This timeless strategy is supported by more than three decades of empirical evidence
The authors skillfully explain how to incorporate the ideas of the Permanent Portfolio into your financial endeavors in order to maintain, protect, and grow your money. Includes select updates of Harry Browne's Permanent Portfolio approach, which reflect our changing times

I'm a lawyer and mediator. I represent businesses in disputes with their insurers and in other complex litigation. I also assist machinery companies and manufacturers (primarily international) with equipment sales, non-disclosure agreements, and business issues. I also mediate commercial disputes.
This is a great book about a very simple strategy aimed at preserving wealth and making a reasonable inflation adjusted return. The strategy is very simple, but the detailed advice about how to implement it is very helpful. I found the arguments in favor of the strategy very compelling.
As an audiobook, it suffers in two respects. First, the book has a lot of tables, which the narrator just reads. Kind of mind-numbing. Second, the narrator is just not that good. His voice reminds me of Don Adams playing Maxwell Smart, for those of you old enough to remember.
Maybe better purchased for a Kindle or as a hard copy book.
The book is probably ok but the way the audio was compiled it is really unusable. When the narrator hits a chart it reads all the information in the chart. It goes on for 15 min or so on each chart. It is worthless as an audio book. Remove the charts and give us a pdf to see the charts.
The reading of charts cell by cell.
I quit listening to the book so I didn't finish. I am so sorry to have to complain about this book. I am going to ask for a refund. Sorry guys I'm sure the book is good. It is just the presentation layer that is bad.
I was trying to learn more about investing strategies and read a few general books (most US focused and only splitting the assets into shares & bonds) until I found this.
I love how it is all encompassing (free of emotions and ready for every political or economic situation). It has clear instructions on how to get started, what to buy and where, including non-US residents!!!
Even though this is a one size fits all approach, it makes a lot of sense, is exactly what I need (an investment strategy preserving our hard earned money while making sure it is permanently outgrowing the inflation rate) and more than I ever hoped to find in just one book. Brilliant!
