"Offering sound advice, practical tools, and warm wisdom, this book will help black professional women get and stay on track and maximize their abilities." (Publishers Weekly)
Inflection and I think hearing someone else's story is essential for a connection. You can more readily believe them and put things to action.
To stand up for yourself, know your limitations and if need be walk away from a job when you find a better one. Be true to yourself.
I enjoyed the different readers and the different stories. I look forward to another book.
Very conversational. Felt as if you were sitting with your girlfriends talking about your day.
Yes, the feel was really interesting and I believe it would be repeated in additional materials.
Simple, understandable and easy to apply.
MAMAism, as a woman and big sister I could really relate with this and this was my greatest lesson from this book.
She reads slow and stresses the right important areas. She made the book a great listen.
MAMAism, emotional intelligence, the art of war, general leadership.
I recommend this book to all my female friends.
I purchased this book with the goal of learning about becoming a leader in my workplace. Although the book is tailored toward the Black female, I found the book to be informative. The book takes a real-life approach to the struggles that most women face when striving to become a leader in her organization. The "Mammaisms" make the book even more enjoyable by throwing in sayings that I heard in my home growing up. I highly recommend this book for all women in business.
I just finished this book and I feel I've learned so much in such little time! She definitely gives you the game of how to act and survive in the corporate world being a "black women." This book is great if you're already in the workforce or about to go into it. Definitely recommend it to those who want to have a better experience in the workforce.
This book was great and so full of inspiration. I enjoyed taking notes and hearing techniques to improve myself as a whole. It's a great learning tool that I will definitely reference when I need it and when I have spare time.
I took a long time to actually listen to this book. But when I finally did, it was the right time. I'm not in the corporate world, im an entrepreneur and this book still hit home for me. I'm sending this book to my 3 Daughters and nieces who are in the corporate arena. My favorite part was the Mamaisms cause it brought back so many wonderful memories of my Mama, and let me know I'm stronger than I've given my self credit for. Thank you for this book, I will be reviewing again and again.
Amazing, insightful & encouraging. While this was for the black woman in the corporate world & entrepreneurs it can also be applied to the life of EVERY black woman. Great read!
