Finally, a much-needed biblical resource for individuals and small groups that addresses money and ministry in the marketplace.
Every life requires a spiritual foundation.
“Grandfather, you left this . . . .” Julio lifted the leather-bound journal and stepped toward the old man. “It is yours now,” said Antonio, with a gleam in his eye. “I’ve lived my life according to the twelve principles recorded in it. And if you will apply its principles as I did, your success will be greater than you could ever imagine.”
Be a minister in the marketplace. Terry Felber's story of the monk and the merchant, set in Rome during the Renaissance, is full of 16th-century adventure and real-world truth. As his tale unfolds, Felber asks and answers questions about family, creativity, innovation in business, and God. As he explains in a new foreword, this book helped Dave Ramsey rediscover the marketplace as a mission field - and merchants as ministers. Now let it open your eyes to the opportunities for service and leadership all around you.
Are you ready for a change? The Legend of the Monk and the Merchant will change the way you see yourself, your job, and your purpose.

just the right balance of story and principles for my taste. I don't normally read fiction due to lack of time, but this was a a good read or listen in my case. the audiobook is narrated well, I listened to it at 1.15× speed and it was very good.
I don't have the print version but I very interested in getting this book.
I love the storytelling and the lessons learned with life circumstances.
Told the story very well and I could imagine being told the story.
When grandfather told his story how he met the fathom pirate.
There were parts of the audio that he had faded out and some woman in the background was talking.
I would recommend this book to anyone open to lessons which will develop their character.
I am not a deeply religious person and although this book is riddled with citations from scripture it is not off-putting. In fact the citations used are well explained and practical.
I'll listen to this one many times and will share this title with many people.
The whole story
Tells a story of how business and religion can aid each other and not to be ashamed to be successful at your business
If you want a life changing book read this. It has a lot to teach.
Important in breaking stereotypes about what it means to serve God. I appreciated the group study at the end too.
I am also going to do this a a book sclub and do the study question which are at the end. Excellent choice and required reading by Dave Ramsey
