"If you want to turn your laptop into your own cash machine so you can travel the world or just have the life you have always dreamed of, then this is the best audiobook you could ever grab to help make that happen." (Matt Bacak, author of Secrets of the Internet Millionaire Mind)
I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. Not only is this a sales-pitch disguised as a book, but also a direct rip-off of "The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich" by Timothy Ferriss. Ironically, the author suggests taking someone's work, adapting it, putting your name to it then selling it online as one of get rich quick strategies.
There is lots of talk about how rich the author is and lots of reference to the programs, webinars, and other materials you can purchase if you sign into his website (membership site). The basic strategy is to sell something online by compiling an email database and regularly spamming them. Oh, and don't forget the up-sell!
The only person getting rich with this book is the author.
Mr Synnestvedt's reading of the book, while technically competent, makes listening difficult as he has the tendency to end every sentence with a slight whine. It is like listening to Truman Capote reading a business book - very distracting.

I purchased this book with the clear understanding that many books like this preach how you can make millions and untold riches. So as a Internet Marketer with over 30 years experience (well before the WWW) I thought I would listen and review. I was pleasantly surprised and found a great deal of information that I didn't know as well as ideas that got my mind thinking.
Firstly, many of the claims and figures seem a bit high but at the same time, I have had some incredible success with marketing books and epubs online that my own family has trouble believing. The same with social media, I have had some losers and some real winners and generated interest in products that I least expected.
Other than the above, I found many of the ideas, tricks and tips work and in many cases the author provides examples that seem low but reasonable. And he's quite right when he says you can make $20 a month on certain promos. Seems like a minor amount but it can be scaled up.
For the money I spent and my own past knowledge, this book is worth listening to from start to finish. You will get lots of ideas and you should try them all. Without being able to verify claims made, I still feel that a good 95% of what is recommended will work. One needs to be creative when you market.
Lastly, if a person didn't make at least $500 - $2000 in your first year with the advice provided, you need to go back and reread the book. The value is there but always take large dollar claims with a grain of salt and be willing to try the techniques yourself. I can say and be willing to put my own reputation on the line and say that there is ALOT of great info in this book.
ps. As a Canadian, I worked in California a few years ago and had many clients then selling books, consulting and other online products. Even the poor performing products were able to generate a surprising amount of income that comes in each month.
pps. A few years ago, I sold a book online called HOW TO MAKE $95,000 IN DESKTOP PUBLISHING. I produced it myself and ran 2 online ads for about $100. My first year I grossed about $30,000. Yes, this sounds liek BS but it isn't and to this day, I am still blown away with how I was able to sell as many copies as I did. That was my first experience with online sales and it was a great learning experience.

No! The narrator makes the book impossible to listen to. He does this whine-thing with his voice in an attempt to sound sexy or something. It just sounds put on and awful. It really ruins the book because I could not pay attention to anything except his weird attempt at something with his voice.
He is awful. He does a vocal thing at the end of every sentence that sounds like he is either trying to be sexy or is trying to make his voice deep. It's is so awful that I am going to return this book.
Made me mad that good information was ruined by an awful narrator.
This audio does not do the book any justice. You need to book for all of the information that was given or at least a supplemental pdf for what was discussed in the audio. AWESOME!
The Four Hour Work Week, it gives you so much information on how to take action to succeed in being a Laptop Millionaire and put it into overdrive.
It depends on the information given, not too fond of Erik's speech, however the information was so outstanding it did not bother me as much.
It would have been nice, however it was too much information packed in each part. I needed the break in between the two sessions to collect my thoughts.
This book seemed to leave out much of what I wanted to know and repeat other details over and over again. Never the less I will try out some of the ideas and see if they help my business.
Some odd vocal habits.
His talk about leading the good life.
make a full time living working from home. Don't just sell your time for money
This is a great audio book, full of very interesting information and tidbits. Must listen to several times as it will inspire you to take action.
It provided additional enthusiasm
Buy it ! it's one of the best you will find.
I would recommend this to anyone trying to create an online business. It has been great and full of ideas on how to grow your online presence. I have listened and re-listened to this a few times.
The way Erik closed each sentence felt odd and robotic.
I have already used some points in this book to land me my first paying customer online.
#1, the best! A great rags to riches story that can be reproduced by anyone willing to apply themselves.
Smooth delivery and didnt get all hyped up, just delivered the material in a professsional easy to listen to fashion.
There were many
"I almost did not buy this.. big mistake!"
My first impression was.. not another millionaire, internet marketing book! I was wrong. This guy throws out one strategy after another, over and over again. I have read other books in the same genre and this one tops my list by far!
The book also includes many credible testimonials and URLs. It gets straight to the point with each chapter having examples and concise actionable steps. I also bought the digital print version from the books website as the book is full of how to lists.
The author does not try to up-sell you (unlike other similar books), instead he gives you enough information to choose your interest and take action today.
A true manual for succeeding on the internet if you are prepared to apply yourself and stick with it. Personally not keen on the narrator, but worth getting past to receive the information.
"Awful, just an extended sales letter"
I wonder how many times Mark Anastasi directs the listener to his website in the hope they'll buy something?
There are just enough interesting points in this book to mean it's not a complete and utter waste of time but you'll have to work hard to filter out the hype to find it. I also recommend ignoring the advice in the case studies to, for example, violate Facebook's terms and conditions. Too many of these suggested money making schemes have the whiff of short term scams about them, very few seem to be the basis of long term businesses.
At the end of the day, the author made most of his money by selling materials such as this to people like you and me and most of the examples are of other people selling material on how to make money - eventually the supply of people daft enough to pay for such recycled stuff is likely to run out.
And, to cap things off, this is the worst narration I have ever heard. It is JUST bearable if you turn the speed up to 1.5 but otherwise it's fingernails-on-blackboard awful.
If you want to be rich (or think you do) you'd be better off listening to Felix Dennis's book "How to get rich" which is also available on Audible.
Haven't finished the book yet, but already I've been able to "grab" a couple ideas from it. A good mixture of suggestions, plus interspersed with his own life story. It's definitely motivational as I relate to some of the things he's been through in life.
What I also like, is he supplies links to actual websites & information rather than just vague ideas.
I've been suffering from a chronic illness & I'm hoping books like this will help me get back on my feet and self sufficient again.
"Really Annoying Audio"
This Book has good content but the audio sounds weird and gets annoying. if you are going to publish an audio book make sure you use a voice that sounds human and is not just an auto tuned machine
"Good for mindset, questionable for business ideas"
The best part of this audiobook is the part related to mindset. If you are working from home, and like to have audiobooks on in the background (as I do), then this is an upbeat explanation on how many people have made a lot of money on the Internet.
The worst part of this audiobook is that huge chunks are dedicated to the author's idea that the surefire way to make money on the Internet is to spam people. Let me explain, he goes to endless lengths explaining how having a large mailing list is so important, now I agree it is, so far so good. But then he goes on to say that you should use whatever method is easiest to increase size of your list (indiscriminately - paying people on Fiverr to 'give you 10000 twitter followers or Facebook fans' is put across as the main method), then he orders you to go onto Clickbank (an affiliate site), find a popular offer, then offer it to your fans via Twitter/Facebook/email 2-7 times per week! Sorry, but this is spamming, fine it might work, with big enough numbers you will make a bit of money, but really, it's nothing to be too proud of.
Additionally, it could be argued that this is very similar to Tim Ferris' audiobook on the same subject, I would say Tim's is better, but this is by no means bad.
I don't wish to be too negative though, and there are many good suggestions and marketing tips, some of which I am using with my own business.
Yes, the tactics in the book might not be to everyone's taste, but he is direct and to the point, I would be interested in hearing what else he has to say.
The book is very numeric when it comes to examples, which I liked.
Yes, it inspired me to work harder.
"Defintely Worth a Listen"
Having listened to many many audio books by millionaires and by people telling you how to make a few quid this one is by far the best. With examples and lots of strategies this is the first one I have acted upon. Admittedly I am not doing it quite how Mark has described but I am using many of his ideas and am focussing on his basic premise of his money making idea. I wont give it away here but unlike other books you dont need to be a genius, or have skills or already have money to spend to make this idea work.
Defintely worth a listen
