Do you feel too overwhelmed to enjoy life, unable to sort out the demands on your time? Are you doing your best work as a leader yet not making an impact? Have you ever felt stuck, powerless to change your environment? In The Emotionally Healthy Leader, best-selling author Peter Scazzero shows leaders how to develop a deep inner life with Christ, examining its profound implications for surviving stress, planning and decision making, building teams, creating healthy culture, influencing others, and much more.
Going beyond simply offering a quick fix or new technique, The Emotionally Healthy Leader gets to the core, beneath-the-surface issues of uniquely Christian leadership. This book is more than a book you will hear; it is a resource you will come back to over and over again.

This book is rich with wisdom and practical advice. It is up close and personal in the real life of pastoral ministry so it is extremely relevant. But be warned. This book will challenge you personally and calls for change in the culture, practice and expectations in typical evangelical church leadership. If you are serious about cultivating a personal transforming relationship with Christ that fuels your life and leadership. This book is for you.

This just wasn't what I was looking for. I imagine that people more interested in church work or ministry would appreciate this book's message more since that seems to be the book's main focus.
I recommend any one in a leadership role read this book. I plan to read other books similar to this one written by him.
I would consider the print version better than the audio version because of the interactive nature of this book, such as assessments. Also, I would consider this a deeply reflective book, where one may want to sit with a page or chapter or sentence. Print makes that more interactive.
Emotionally Healthy Church is extremely similar and just as rich, except it is for discipleship and church health, not just leadership/leader health.
I enjoyed how he talked about marriage or singleness being prioritized.
Marriage/singleness being prioritized.
EHS is filled woth great concepts for moving beyond our unique culture to authentic Christian community. But early on Scazzaro's purpose is for us to live the new life and a new community. From living our faith in our marriage or singleness to work environments. Pete has proved EHS is effective as is shown in his church with 70 plus different cultures who represent Christ well.
