This isn't fluff, buy this book and listen to it multiple times. I know it will help you get where you want to go!
Yes. And then again after that. I've read the book twice and now listening to it even more of its gems are revealed. As a chiropractor who went down the typical entrepreneurial seizure road and was drowning in his own creation, this book described me well. As I've made many of the changes brought out in the book, it still describes me but at the other end of the spectrum that the book promised the first time reader exists at the end of the journey.
It's not really a story except that it tells one's own story. You get to see yourself in the descriptions and then you get to watch your own story evolve and grow into something you never dreamed possible until you "happened" upon this book.
You can kind of hear their passion in the way they present their chapters. Also, Sovinsky seems to be a guy who always has a joke ready to crack just underneath those serious concepts he's bringing out.
What didn't I learn? Let's start with me learning to meet the patient's true needs and leaving my need to "help everyone as I think they need to be helped" at home. Then there's having recognized my true passion for what I do as a chiropractor and bringing that into the office as opposed to being there just because I need to make a living. You get the idea.
No matter what your business, chiro or otherwise, the e-myth books can help you dig yourself out of the mire of being the boss, the owner and the employee all at the same time! and then learn a way to become all of those in their appropriate times, as needed.
Not only would I listen to E-Myth Chiropractor again, it is a must! The systems and thought provoking questions Dr. Sovinsky and Mr.Gerber bring up throughout the book cannot be mastered in a single listen or read.
The solutions are real life, ideas and procedures I can implement now, real time, in my practice to make a difference that shows up in patient compliance, patient visits, and income to the office.
Their stories and analogies are easily understood. Their voices are easy to listen to, and bring a sense of urgency that helps motivate the listener to take action.
My biggest take-away from The E-Myth Chiropractor is the Business of Chiropractic is ever changing, and by being stuck in the mindset that "it was done that way in the past, it should work now", Is NOT going to work today or in the future. The world is changing, and those Businesses or practices, that don't implement the changes outlined in The E-Myth Chiropractor, will not a business that others talk about.
As a Chiropractor I had a dream coming out of school, to help as many people as possible by means of Chiropractic, I learned that without a successful, smooth operating business, I have no way to reach all those people I dreamed of helping. Thank you Dr. Sovinsky and Mr. Gerber and E-Myth Chiropractor!
This book is just like some chiropractors out there- hocus pocus assumptions without any factual justification. And I am a chiropractor. This is a "quasi" management book. This is not a book on how to grow your practice. This is Gerber taking money from any gullible, frustrated small business person who wants to "wish" himself out of the hard knocks of business. Next will be the "E-myth pizza delivery man", E-myth chinese take out, E-myth dog walker, etc.

No. I listed to the E-myth book, maybe 10 years ago, and that had a message. These E-myth clones are just a "con".
Write a "real" book again, Mr. Gerber, if you can.
Kind of felt several times that this book was written for me. Really called me out on my flaws. I'll be reading it two or three times at least
This book really gets to the core issues of why your chiropractic business is not as successful as you would like it to be. You will feel a real shift in your passion and purpose when you explore the truths about business and chiropractic that both Michael Gerber and Dr. Frank Sovinsky present. You feel as though you are getting the absolute best advice from the absolute best in the industry. You will know exactly what you need to do and more importantly, what you need to STOP doing in order to take better care of your patients and out perform any other business in your community.
The book, The E-Myth Revisited, presents the core principles that Dr. Frank Sovinsky has incorporated into a successful chiropractic paradigm. It is reassuring to see a professional take a set of principles and practices and successfully implement them in your current field.
The story of Steve and Peggy is interwoven throughout the chapters and nicely brings each principle into a real life scenario for the reader. It is a fascinating journey that truly explains why your practice is a family business.
It is all about the patient!
