Publisher's summary

Crowdfunding is a trend...not a fad!

You've written a book...and now you need money for design and printing; money for marketing; money to develop a website; even money for a PR campaign. Money. If your resources are low, and your bank yawns when you approach it, there's another way.

Welcome to OPM! Other people's money...money that is given to you and money that you don't have to pay back. Welcome to crowdfunding.

You want the odds are on your side. To be in the 30 percent minority. If you are an author or author-to-be, you want to succeed. You want to be in the 30 percent that succeed in a publishing crowdfunding project. Not the 70 percent that don't.

The Crowdfunding Guide for Authors and Writers will show you how to:

  • Create rewards that are slick, click and tick with donors.
  • Identify timelines: pre, during and post a crowdfunding campaign.
  • Determine which crowdfunding sites are best for authors and writers.
  • Pinpoint the essentials that every successful crowdfunding campaign has.
  • Get hot tips for creating momentum and the final push.
  • Structure a social media checklist that s ideal for your project.

Heres the guide you've been looking for that is easy and understandable that will show you how to set budgets and limit costs. Does crowdfunding work? Yes. Is it doable? Absolutely...with some help.

With The Crowdfunding Guide for Authors and Writers, you've got Judith Briles at your side. As the Book Shepherd and publishing coach, all her authors have been over-funded. You can be too.

Informative

I found this to be a huge learning tool. As a listener of audio books only, I have also wondered about how one can make any money or market in a way that can be profitable to the author.

This book exposes all of the steps that an author will be required to go through to become published (and I imagine that they are ever-changing) and how crowdfunding is a valuable asset in getting an author's product into the hands of the people who will purchase it.

I would not consider it a marketing book, but the information included would be invaluable to a beginning author.

The author also narrated the book. In some instances this can be a terrible idea, however I think that because she knew the ins and outs of what she was speaking of it made it easier to follow along.

While *I did receive this as a gift in exchange for an unbiased review, I would recommend it to anyone who may be interested in how crowd funding works. I will also be keeping it near the top of my library, in case I do become motivated one day to write a book of my own.

Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchased a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to. I also have the opportunity to review books in all genres, many that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and narrators. Thanks!

I enjoy leaving reviews, as I know that I read them the reviews of others before I purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select yes directly below this paragraph? Thank you so much.

Need more details and examples

As a person who read/listened about 10 crowdfunding books, I would say I wish there were more details of each topic in this title. For example: What kind of photos a book campaign pan have? What would be the reward images? What would be the update content during the campaign? The book tell to add photos, reward images, send updates etc but how specifically they would be? Also, there are mentions to only 3-4 previous campaigns. There should be more and each topic should be backed by real campaign examples instead listing a few examples in the beginning
