Publisher's summary

This classic expose of the Fed has become one of the best-selling books in its category of all time. Where does money come from? Where does it go? Who makes it? The money magician's secrets are unveiled. Here is a close look at their mirrors and smoke machines, the pulleys, cogs, and wheels that create the grand illusion called money. A boring subject? Just wait. You'll be hooked in five minutes. It reads like a detective story - which it really is, but it's all true.

This book is about the most blatant scam of history. It's all here: the cause of wars, boom-bust cycles, inflation, depression, prosperity. Your world view will definitely change. Putting it quite simply, this may be the most important book on world affairs you will ever read.

The 5th Edition includes a no-holds barred analysis of bank bailouts under the Bush and Obama Administrations that are shown to be nothing less than legalized plunder of the American people. Many other updates have been added, including a revision to the list of those who attended the historic meeting at Jekyll Island, where the Federal Reserve was created.

Heavy duty content, very good narrator

Narrator:

He had a pleasant speaking voice, enunciated clearly, paused appropriately, emphasized words I suspect the author indicates emphasis via the written text, etc.  I also felt that the narrator delivered certain lines in the book with the appropriate amount of sarcasm and cynicism as though the author himself was reading this.    Kudos to the narrator!  I will be looking for more books with him.

Content:

If you are looking for a book that will be a light weight companion during a daily commute, you may be disappointed.  The content of this book is heavily laden with concepts and historical facts that could be lost or misconstrued if driving to and from work.  These concepts are critical to understanding the next set of concepts, so it is probably better to have nearly all your focus on this book.

I will be revisiting this book again soon.

One of the more interesting parts is the author’s prediction of how the future might look if we continue on this path of enabling the Federal Reserve.  His description was eerily like Orwell’s world in “1984”.

I think my jaw hit the floor a couple different times... This book will leave the listener a LOT to think about and some history you didn't know... It's all starting to make sense now, I believe this book should be required reading for all people, especially Americans !! Thank you Mr. Griffin for trying to wake us up !!

Hauntingly captivating.

Let me start of by saying this book should be required reading for every single American.

I listen to these audible books while i hike with my dog. On more than one occasion I caught myself making a disgusted face because of what i was hearing. Wipe that look off your face and keep listening.

I plan on buying a hard copy to re-read. There is so much information in this book it will require you to listen to it 5 or 6 more times.

A Must Read/Listen

This is an amazing eye and mind opener.
Great history lesson.
While Mr. G. Edward Griffin provides possible solutions to get us out of this mess, I'm afraid we are doomed.

Thank you for your hard work and effort to prepare this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And have recommended it to others.

The most important book Americans need to read.

In order to preserve the viability of our country and avert our self-destruction down the rabbit hole of debt, every American ought to become aware of the dangers we face from the cartel named the Fed by arming yourself with the historical background and our projected future that this book provides.

I have the hardcopy that I read about 10 years ago. This audiobook is just as good. I do recommend both.
