"Profound first part, commercials part two!"

First part of the book ( dealing with the brain structure and functionality from a neuromarketing perspective) is a real masterpiece with lots of solid deep insights. The second part though is a pure marketing of the authors patented research and the services they provide in his company. Didn't regret it though.

And one additional thought, the narrator could have been much better.

    "Puff Piece"
What disappointed you about The Buying Brain?

This book has interesting concepts, but the author continually hammers on how great his research methodology is compared to standard customer surveys. Just when he starts talking about interesting ideas, he quickly reverts back to this refrain. This is like a puff piece whitepaper that tech firms post on their websites.

"Not Good Read - It's Marketing for Beginners"
What disappointed you about The Buying Brain?

He made such basic comments correlating Neuroscience to marketing principles that we all learned in life or in school. He spent a lot of time talking about the science behind the brain but that too, we all learned in 12th grade. Very disappointing read

Has The Buying Brain turned you off from other books in this genre?

    No.

How could the performance have been better?

    Not relevant

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No redeeming qualities - just gave me a bit more insight into the fact that fMRI's are not as practical as people say.

    Any additional comments?

    None

"Want to know how your customer's mind works?"

In a day and age of so many self-appointed internet sales gurus, offering promises of silver bullets and Jedi mind-tricks, this title is a breath of fresh air. Based upon peer-reviewed scientific studies, not hearsay, this book gives an in-depth understanding of the growing trend of neuromarketing. Useful for anyone interested in marketing, science or understanding how their own mind works.

    "Basically his company's sales tool"

This sounded interesting, and while it's not boring, it really just seems like a sales tool for his company Neurofocus.
