Ending of book

The ending was weird! 30 minutes of flute music that just kept going and going. Overall good classic!

Fascinating insight into a great leader's mind

What did you love best about The Art of War?

The way the information was broken down. No long, winding explanations of the steps Sun Tzu believed were necessary to be successful. Just small, bite-sized nuggets of insightful information and strategy.

What did you like best about this story?

Appreciating the fact that information in "The Art of War" is still used today, thousands of years later.

Have you listened to any of Mike Borris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I haven't so I can't credibly make any comparisons between his works.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No real extreme reactions. A lot of "wows" when hearing the strategies.

Any additional comments?

I believe this book is a must for those in the cutthroat world of business and athletics. My work is not in those arenas so there aren't a great deal of ideas that I can utilize. It was a fascinating listen nonetheless.

The last few chapters are just pan flute music.

I'm not sure why someone would do this other than to make the run time seem longer.

Incomplete

The last 12 chapters are nothing but music? If that was intended it wasn't mentioned mentioned before listening.

Good reading but I don't think that is the whole book

The man who read this did very well and I found it quit information. But the entire last half of the book was music. A bad modern recreation of traditional Chinese music that may or may not have been written about war. So don't buy this book but look for the author. This is the first time this type of thing has happened to me in audible and I have listened to more than 200 hours with them so don't take this as a bash on audible!

Raw Military Advice

Sun Tzu's masterpiece is full of strategy wisdom and insight that can be applied to business or even life.

Yet this book is the raw material from Sun Tzu: there is no context, no summaries, no ideas on how to apply it to modern life. This is a book on military strategy that would be useful to any general building a man-to-man combat plan in a war.

Unless that fits your profile, then I would recommend looking for another book that applies Sun Tzu's wisdom to your area of work in a way that you will find useful.

Plus, the second part of the book is just instrumental music - Chinese, I suppose. I don't see how it fits in an audiobook unless you plan to practice some Wu-Shu after being inspired by it.
