In Speak with Power: Giving High-Performance Presentations for Profit and Results, expert communicator Michael Gelb teaches you how to overcome any hurdle by focusing on the brain's role in both giving and receiving presentations. In boardrooms, classrooms, and living rooms across the country, presentations are designed and delivered in a way that disregards the one tool needed to communicate ideas effectively: the human brain. Incorporating the natural creativity from the human brain will make each presentation you give exciting and memorable. The program emphasizes that within all of us lies the ability to do more than merely survive a presentation. On the contrary, speaking to a group can be an enjoyable, personal, and fulfilling experience! Speak with Power also dispels the myth that people are either inherently comfortable in front of a group or they are not. In fact, everyone is capable of learning how to give persuasive and entertaining presentations. In this essential program, you'll learn how to:
A great presentation can educate, encourage, motivate, and inspire its audience. More importantly, the ability to give a powerful, informative, and engaging presentation is within anyone's reach. Exacting, easily absorbed, insightful, tested and approved by the best in the biz, very grateful for this!
I have set a personal goal to give better presentations this year. Although most of my sales presentations are one-on-one or to a very small group, this book allowed me to think in ways I would not have otherwise, very helpful.
"Great listen - beneficial"
There were some fabulous points about giving presentations and power speaking in this audiobook. It was very comprehensive and the speaker was great and easy to listen to.
I would have rated it 5 stars if it ended after about 5 hours with a summary of the main points.
However, it went on for at least 90 minutes about leadership and didn't it was almost like another book. If I wanted to listen to leadership I'd just prefer to listen to an audiobook on that :)
