Yes, the section on goals, objectives, strategies and tactics caused me to change the way I approached my social media marketing almost immediately. Knowing the differences helped me expand in some of my efforts, and throw out some non-productive procedures I previously employed.

Be SMART on Social Media

What about Laura E. Richcreek’s performance did you like?

Laura's voice was easy to listen to. Her speaking was clear, well paced, and with appropriate expression to the book content.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book gave me a lot to think about regarding social media marketing as an author. I am already listening to it again to deepen my understanding of the concepts Chris shared and thinking about how to apply them to my own social media engagement.

Any additional comments?

The premise of this book is that you should have a plan and strategies for social marketing, not just how to use tactics and tools. (That's the trap I often fall into - shiny object syndrome!) in order to help you use social media in the long term regardless of which rules get changed or which platforms become most popular - or not. That is definitely a SMART approach!

Would you consider the audio edition of SMART Social Media for Authors: The Practical Guide for Anyone to Sell More Books to be better than the print version?

Having read the book when I first published my novel, I decided to listen to the Audible version at the same time while re-reading the book to refresh my memory. It was the Smartest thing to do!

What did you like best about this story?

I have taken several courses and read a couple of other books on Facebook marketing, however Chris Syme has tailored her approach to authors which helped narrow the focus to my specific needs. I highly recommend this book to authors -- both traditionally published and indie published.
