The fable is about a penguin colony in Antarctica. When one curious bird discovers a potentially devastating problem threatening their home, no one listens to him. The characters in the story, Fred, Alice, Louis, Buddy, the Professor, and NoNo, are like people we recognize, even ourselves. Their tale is one of resistance to change and heroic action, seemingly intractable obstacles and the most clever tactics for dealing with those obstacles. It's a story that is occurring in different forms all around us today, but the penguins handle the very real challenges a great deal better than most of us.

"This light, quick read should fulfill its intended purpose: to serve as a springboard for group discussions about corporate culture, group dynamics, and the challenges of change." (Publishers Weekly)
Written with the same author of, and with a same overall message to "Who Moved my Cheese," this is a short story to convey the lessons for how to deal with change. Of the two, my recommendation is for Johnson's prior book (Who Moved my Cheese) as I felt it better conveyed the learnings - although both get their notes across.
Although I liked Who Moved My Cheese better. Worth reading as a refresher to keep yourself open to new ideas and to keep your skills flexible.
A sense of urgency does not describe how to use it. This book explains the process that should be used to follow the other book.
This book is the book you should have your employees read, not A sense of urgency"
The fact that it was Fable, made it very easy to follow the story line. I could relate most of the penguin characters to the real life people.
When everyone stops listening to the "NO NO" penguin.
It did make me laugh at some point.
