In the best-selling tradition of Brene Brown's Daring Greatly and Nick Vujicic's Life Without Limits comes a rousing seven-step plan for living a life on fire, filled with hope and possibility - from an inspirational speaker who survived a near-fatal fire at the age of nine and now runs a successful business inspiring people all around the world.
When John O'Leary was nine years old, he was almost killed in a devastating house fire. With burns on 100 percent of his body, O'Leary mustered an almost unimaginable amount of inner strength just to survive the ordeal. The insights he gained through this experience and the heroes who stepped into his life to help him through the journey - his family, the medical staff, and total strangers - changed his life. Now he is committed to living life to the fullest and inspiring others to do the same.
An incredible and emotionally honest account of triumph over tragedy, On Fire contains O'Leary's reflections on being that little boy, the life-giving choices made then, and the resulting lessons he learned. O'Leary very clearly shares that without the right people providing the right guidance at the right time, he never would have made it through those five months in the hospital, let alone the years that followed as he struggled to regain mobility, embrace his story, and ignite clarity of his life's purpose.
On Fire encourages us to seize the power to choose our paths and transform our lives from mundane to extraordinary. Once we stop thinking solely on the big moments in our lives, we can begin to focus on those smaller opportunities that tend to pass us by. These are the events - the inflection points in our lives - that can determine how we feel about life now, where we are headed in the future, and how many lives we can impact along the way. We can't always choose the paths we walk, but we can choose how we walk them. Empowering, inspiring, remarkably honest, and heartfelt, O'Leary's strength and incredible spirit shine through in every minute.

This is an incredible Book that I recommend to everyone. After reading it, I can say it is on one of the 3 most influential books I've ever read. It is also incredibly moving. I think about the material everyday, and was able to put one difficult concept into action just yesterday. This is a book I will read and read and then read again.
So inspiring! Get this book, read it and get out there and LIVE! Don't forget the tissues because it's an emotional read at time, but well worth it!
I had heard John's story before. But the lessons he brings in this book that he had to learn much harder than most of us ever will are inspiring. It proves that excuses are just that, and if you want to be successful only you can make that choice.
I love personal development and John told his story in a way we could all learn from it. This book was great. I loved it so much I bought the paper version too.
I have already recommended this book to almost everybody I've spoken with as of lately. unbelievably inspiring book full of faith love hope and action. Thank You John O 'Leary for 'getting up' and sharing your story, your Truths!!! Many Blessings, and Lots of Love being sent your way today and everyday! Thank You!!
My precious little boy is fighting cancer and my beloved dad is battling a terminal illness. I needed my life to be ignited again. This book really helped do just that. What an inspiration John O'Leary is! May God always bless this family!
I was inspired and encouraged to love others and to see beyond the imperfections of others. This book is full of examples of how to show love to others and be a hero for those who need it without awaiting to receive anything in return but the satisfaction of seen somebody else thrive and soar in life. One of my favorite people in the book was his Parents, what an example of unconditional love and awesome parenting.
This book is simply powerful. The choices seem obvious at first and "oh, here we go again" and yet it's not a feel good book. When in perspective these choices are not always obvious. It is a gentle but firm wake up call that keeps coming back to the first question posed "Do you want to die?" And if you want to live, you're going to have to fight for it. I literally stopped and replayed it so many times I ended up ordering the hard copy so I could go back again and again to those wise passages when I forget or get discouraged. Absolutely LOVE this book, the author for allowing inspiration to write it and to read it, and all the people who helped make this story possible. Mostly I'm grateful to God for planning this amazing journey with an outcome far more significant than anyone could imagine.
