Publisher's summary

The need for and demands on leadership have changed radically in the past few years. To be a dynamic and effective leader of a 21st-century organization or corporation requires an entirely different strategy and set of skills than it did just five or ten years ago. In fact, much of the best advice and examples from even the last decade no longer apply.

This audiobook looks at fundamental ways to become and remain the most effective leader possible, given the current institutional and corporate landscape. It hopes to ensure that we have inspiring and visionary leaders at the heads of our organizations, divisions, and institutions. I believe that, through exploring and then enhancing the qualities encompassed by the new-school leadership model that I outline in these pages, my listeners will feel empowered to do what is needed to lead success in their enterprise with passion, purpose, and top productivity.

Leadership

My pastor recommended this book to me because of some voluntary duties I had recently taken on at church. While listening the book, I could understand how leaders are everywhere even if they are not bestowed with an official title.

Amazingly Narrated

The book is organized in three main sections: Ambition and the Recognition of Leadership, Adversity and Growth, and The Leader and the Times. Within each of these sections we learn how Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson led our country. Each of these men experienced events that disrupted their lives but they emerged in better shape to deal with many serious challenges. They also shared a fierce ambition and resilience that enabled them to overcome their unique hardships
