Imagine finding yourself sitting next to a self-made millionaire for eight hours on a long-haul international flight. Imagine that person was prepared to share with you the secrets of their success. For one lucky person this actually happened. Inspired by a true story, Millionaire Upgrade is the tale of one very experienced entrepreneur and one very lucky passenger.
The story unfolds mid-air at 35,000 feet as Michael, the savvy self-made millionaire, shares his wisdom, eight-step approach, and magic ingredients for success with Tom, the aspiring entrepreneur. Their mid-air conversation contains all the secrets and practical insight you need to help you make your first million. It shows how you can turn your strengths and passions into an exciting, rewarding, and challenging enterprise.
Better than any in-flight movie, Millionaire Upgrade gets you inside the minds of successful entrepreneurs and self-made millionaires giving you the inside track on how they think and act.

"It took me a long time to learn this stuff; I wish I'd been on that plane 30 years ago!" (Simon Woodroffe, YO! Sushi & Dragons' Den)
"Millionaire Upgrade captures the essence of what it takes to be successful in anything you choose to do. The rules of success are timeless and simply explained so you can apply them in your own business or personal life." (BJ Cunningham, founder of Death Cigarettes)
"In Millionaire MBA, Richard decoded entrepreneurs and unpicked their millionaire mindset. With Millionaire Upgrade, he has put it all back together again through IBELIEVE and a compelling story. Very clever and a must read for any budding entrepreneur!" (Rene Carayol, Leadership Guru)
"It takes a certain mindset to succeed in creating your own business. This book spells out how you need to think and act to succeed, whether you are an entrepreneur or a professional manager. It's a great read too." (Matthew Barrett, Chairman, Barclays Bank)
First, I'd like to point out that I own the whole Millionaire MBA series, listened to it numerous times (and still doing so) and I really believe this series is an absolute MUST have for very serious entrepreneurs. Mastering concepts and ideas shared in the series is a long-term journey but having this knowledge and in-the-field-proven-experiences at hand, wow! what better can you ask for?
Mmm, maybe something to wrap it all up in a concise, yet full of pratical infos format. And this is where I would place Millionaire Upgrade into the picture. If I had to compare the Millionaire MBA series to bricks or building blocks, then the Millionaire Upgrade would be the mortar that holds it tight and fill the joints.
It's produced in a storytelling genre (very well told, by the way) and based on a true event. I felt that the IBELIEVE concept presented in the book is full enough of ideas to give you food for thoughts for some times.
But my take on this is that if you go for the "Upgrade", then seriously consider the whole series. They address somewhat different needs, I guess, but to me, full benefits would come from them being studied together.
The story is a great way to intorduce the ideas behind how a millionaire thinks. It gave me a lot of food for thought and led me to the Millionaire MBA- a program I had never heard of before. I would highly recommend this audio presentation.
This is just a freebie to get you to buy the Millionaire MBA... and it works. :)
A good look into the basic success principles. Even if you're quite into personal development, one or two of the "secrets" may be new to you.
It's free. Get it.
I'll get the Millionaire MBA next. :)
I wasn't sure what to expect with this free download. It is an introduction to the Millionaire MBA series, and well worth the listen. I think it demonstrates that we are all just an inspiration away from creating the life of our dreams, and the importance of staying aware for those clues to success. I've not subscribed to the Millionaire MBA series, but will try at least one. I really enjoy the perspective this takes from a Brit's point of view, rather than an American's.
This book tells a tale compiled from many real world experiences and as such delivers the message with impact and believability. The summation of volumes of ideas, boiled down to their essence, whets the appetite and definitely quickens the entrepreneurial spirit. If you enjoy Patrick Lencioni's work you might like this, too.
I enjoyed this book, which I got as a freebie. It provided an interesting overview of how entrepreneurs think, act and work. It confirmed my own experience of how differently one must think when they no longer work for a boss.
If you are considering entrepreneurship, I would recommend this book. The author lays out many discussion points, places to spark your thinking and ends suggesting you pay more for a Millionaire course.
I have not read any more of the series but I thought this was an excellent starting point for those beginning in business ownership. As a free book, it was actually pretty good.
Need to believe in yourself, self-doubt is the death to your idea.
You must have a motivator to become a winning entrepreneur – like pursuit of your passion
You must face your limiting beliefs! I must extend my comfort zone. I must do one thing each day, which makes me feel uncomfortable. Sow a seed of opportunity every day.
Whether you believe you can or you can’t you’re right.
Lies and luck don’t work. I must be brutally honest with myself. Hope does not work without action.
I must have clearly defined written goals that I review daily. Break larger goals down to small steps and create a plan of action for them. Written goals program your subconscious mind like no other tool, this is vital. A goal is dream with a dead line.
You must have the self-discipline to do the things you don’t want to do when you don’t want to do them.
Time is most precious resource. Procrastination is the thief of time. Good things come to those who wait, but only what’s left behind from those who hustle.
4 Steps Have a clearly defined goal that you believe in, that you are passionate about and you have an intense desire to reach Create a clear plan that you can begin to start working on immediately and anchor this with constant action Immerse yourself in the achievement of the goal. (Allot of people with try to knock you off track) Surround yourself with talented people who share you belief and who can help you achieve my goal
Persistence is not will power, and it’s grounded in belief passion and desire. Most people give up before they reach their goals. Successful people do not! They do not accept NO for an answer and are creative in turning a no into a yes. Successful people are will to do whatever it takes to reach their goals. This requires them to step outside their comfort zone.
Success is going to failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm. Wisdom and judgment come from failure. You learn more from failure then success. Failure is a great teacher. With wisdom and judgment you can take larger calculated risk.
Never think you can do it all alone. Find a mentor if possible.
Hope this helps! Thanks Ralph
No amazing information here, just motivational stuff. It has some good points and a good review. I listened and would recommend. I think i will go back and take a few notes. Again, I didn't learn any thing major, But it was a really good review to reenergize my ambitions.
If you enjoy exploring ideas in the form of a story this is a great read. I find the story an approach a great way to have the reader apply their own ideas / experiences to the ones of the author. Great read!
It is a story about a man sitting beside a successful entrepreneur in a plane ride. During the course of the flight the successful entrepreneur tell his story on how to become successful. It is some quite valuable lessons. I guess I have heard most of them before, but the idea of placing them so close together is quite interesting. It is a god way to put them all together.
One framework used in the book is to tie everything together is the phrase:
"Good points but poor story-telling"
The messages in this self-help book are strung together into a fictional account based very loosely on a real encounter. The presentation in this format was annoying as the author is not an engaging fiction writer, producing sloppy lines and unconvincing dialogue. Furthermore, Audible presents this book for free as it is essentially an advertisement for a course of self-help titles and courses.
All that said and done, some of the tips and advice scattered throughout this title I have not found elsewhere and do make a lot of great sense. Certainly well worth a few hours of your time.
"The essential skills for all entrepreneurs"
The author has a fantastic skill of bringing all the various elements of personal achievement together under one excellent book. Once you start with this there is no turning back. I have studied personal achievement for a few months now and nobody else brings it together as well as Richard, it is truly unique and will no doubt become a classic as time moves on.
Once you have studied this book you should move on to the authors Millionaire MBA course. At my time of writing I've completed the first 6 weeks of Millionaire MBA and have learnt so many insightful lessons, it has changed my outlook on life. I have lots of business ideas and don't seem to sleep as much anymore! I'm constantly thinking about my ideas and the principles in the book and course. I've already started working on my idea and have set my goal of going live as the 31/12/06, and I have no doubt I will achieve it and be successful.
"A nice tale!"
This is the story of a man who's down on his luck in a job he doesn't like and almost misses a plane but magical gets an upgrade to business class and a seat beside a Richard Branson-esque Character who gives him reams of good business advice.
The story itself is based on a conversation of the man character and the business man in first class, once the business man sees the fact that he is carrying a copy of Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich". The story is well written and nicely told and for the price it really is value for money.
If you are interested in nice business tales and fables from such authors as Spencer Johnson or Ken Blanchard then this is for you. If you are looking for something more detailed and expressive then just get the book the story is based on or Brian Tracy's "Success Mastery Academy" both of these titles are inspirational and extremely good motivators!
"Free! - What have you got to lose?"
This audiobook is free. The reason for this appears to be that it is a sales device for the Millionaire MBA program (that bit costs money).
The book features some very... ‘sage’ old words... which are worth hearing. As with any book of its type, most of the advice is common sense; but to hear the world summated in such clear ways cuts through the 'noise' of advice you hear day to day. For that reason, it's worth a listen.
As other reviewers have noted, the concept is a bunch of principals strung together through a (poorly dialogued) chat between a hardworking guy and a seemingly laid back (but driven) millionaire entrepreneur. The cobbled together acronym is... appalling!
However, who cares? It's a very palatable way to be told some home truths that might alter your perspective for the better. Take the Millionaire MBA, or don't take the Millionaire MBA. Either way, there is a good chance you will have benefitted from this book.
Ok, so it is an advert for a course the author has published, but that doesn't mean that you can't learn some very important lessons from this short book. It's also free, so you can't really complain!
It's free so I shouldn't be unkind.... but it's only free because it's a plug for the author's main book "Millionaire MBA" - which, incidentally, I enjoyed but will not be carrying on because it's a 8 week course and I want to use my credits elsewhere!
If you are bored then perhaps worth a listen - but it's a silly piece of nonsense to be fair.
"good but works better when read with other books"
I would recommend the Millionaire Mind as the book to read first, then this is a good one to follow. The Millionaire mind gives a very detailed and more heavy account of the millionaires way of thinking and behaving and this book compliments it and holds some other suggested reading in the content. After reading this book I have started the Millionaire MBA course, you will know why when you have finished this book!... If you are serious about learning about millionaires then this trio is for you.
"Waste of time"
This is the first business book ive hated so much. which pushed me to write this review (i usually dont do reviews)
1. This is more like a novel - we leaned back in his seat with a coffe in his hand, with a suprised look on his face, eyebrows rose in amazement..etc. 75% of the book is filled with that kind of description, i dont want to imagine what the who characters look like, its not supposed to be a graphic novel.
2. The author talks to you like a child, underestimating the knowledge/common sense of your readers is the biggest mistake an author can make.
3. There is no new or any useful content. If your new to business read Rich dad poor dad or listen to Brian tracy
"So bad I wish I could remove it from my library."
Surely there must be a way to get rid of mistakes like this one.
I have not listened to it all of the way through.
Nor will I ever.
It's so bad that whenever I catch sight of it, whilst scrolling through my library, its very presence irritates me.
But I can't seem to find a way to get rid of it.
Sadly zero star ratings are not possible, so it's a grudging one star from me.
"Valid for success in all areas of life"
This book is easy to listen to as it is written as a story. It has a lot of wisdom, some well known other new to me. The book is directed to entrepreneurs with the suggestion that if you follow the principles you can get rich while having a job you love. For me the more fundamental value of the book is that the principles can and should be applied in all areas of live, wherever you want to be successful. You may not get rich on the way but you will achieve you goals.
