Classics, history, historical fiction, marketing, Napoleonic stuff and of course 'Boys own Adventure'. This is my bent. Occasional self help as well.
If you have listen/read Maxwell's other books then you know what you are getting here. Nothing very different but in the same vein with a focus on self-improvement, suppose that is why he titled the book thus. Anyway, short, sweat and easy to follow. One thing I did take away from the book is work your strengths, don't try and fix the weaknesses or you run the risk of being average.
I've listened to John's book on Self-Improvement before when he read it. To me Sean speaks to slow and he's not a very lively reader at all. This book I'd to keep listening to over time to keep refreshing the information contained within it. However, with the narrator tempo and lack of sounding human I had to get through it by listening to it on 1.5x speed. Here we are reminded of what it takes to continually self-improve. We are also warned against platu’ing during our lives. I’ve recently learned what John said about when the student is ready the teacher will appear. I’ve recently begun to expand more and more rapidly in my personal growth and the teachers keep coming. Like Crystals they come when their needed and leave when they feel they’ve done all they can. John talks about mentoring and all that goes into it. Along with how to get the most out of mentoring. John explains that we have to learn from our experience regardless of whether it’s good or bad experience.
Only if they are religious folks
Maybe not, in fact not likely
the reader was fine, easy to understand
I reccomend this audio to anyone who is looking to improve or maintain their rate of development.
This leadership life teacher has become my personal career and life coach on the go. There is so much depth in this book that I can't help but keep reading it over and over again.
As far as the books on leadership and growth this one ranks very high.
There are no characters in this self help book? Just lessons for the person who wants to grow
The narration was great it kept me focused on what the next thing was going to be.
I did, but I don't have the luxury of that kind of time.
