Publisher's summary

Just as there are thousands of stock trades that happen each day, there are thousands of reasons to start trading. There are many people that trade because they are looking for financial gain. However, there are also some people that just enjoy the whole process and want to participate in the market economy. There is also a great deal to be learned from trading stocks as you have the opportunity to really see how the government handles commodity regulation. Trading stocks is also a great way to learn how successful companies develop and grow.

Today, there are two ways that stocks can be traded. They can either be traded electronically or using the traditional floor exchange. Naturally, today's technology has prompted a push towards electronic trading. Surprisingly however, floor trading still remains as the most popular way to trade stocks. These two methods follow the same principles, but the process in which they are executed differs.

Very, very, basic information. I was disappointed.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

There should have been at least a few concepts that were not common-sense. I know very little about the stock market, and yet practically everything presented here I knew already. I was very disappointed.

Has Learn the Stock Market turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I am sure there are more comprehensive books out there written by someone who actually wishes to impart knowledge on the subject.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Claton Butcher?

I felt his narration was a bit strange. Like he was speaking to children. At times it sounded similar to a text to speech application.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Learn the Stock Market?

I would have not written this at all. Unless you are marketing it to tweens or perhaps teenagers who had never even heard of the stock market before.

Great book n a nutshell

I love the book. Very basic understanding of how the stock market works. This is not even a biginner book. It's more like a summary. Listen to it more than once weather you're a newbie or just want to brush up on your basics.

Very Elementary

It’s a good book if you have absolutely no idea about what the stock market is or the use of the stock market. If you are looking on information for how to invest, then use another book.
