Research states that almost half of all improvement initiatives fail due to lack of effective leadership. If this is the case, then as business owners the time has never been more prudent to consider how we are managing our businesses and what kind of leadership strategies we have in place. Given that so many industries are littered with failed start-ups and businesses these days, it is clear that more work and investment is needed to develop future leaders. But even with the right leadership in place, which business model does one choose to follow? There are numerous schools of thought and endless business theories on this topic, but one I believe can revolutionize the way in which all of our businesses operate is that of "lean management". It's not a new idea; in fact the Japanese have been utilizing its power for over 60 years. But it is a concept and a philosophy that we should all take time to understand. What is exactly is lean management? And what is a lean leader? What makes a lean leader different from a normal leader? These are just some of the questions we'll be answering within this book. I love audio books! From science to fiction, business to history. Stories, novels, fairytales, descriptions, guides, explanations, etc.
If there is a very short and very general explanation of what Lean project management is, then this is the book. It probably cannot be much shorter. The book is lacking in examples and depth. After listening you will know what the words “Lean project management” cover, but not much more.
If the topic new to you, I would highly recommend listen to this book. It is short and to the point introduction for lean project management. It is just a start don't expect too much.
If you already know the topic so don't waste your time it is the same basics you get used to listen.
If you already purchased it then refreshing your memory is never a bad idea.
This book should be a free book. It is just a long article.
This is a great place to start! David speaks very quickly so you have to keep up and sometimes go back and re-listen. However, I consider this a reflection of a lean approach! There are great suggestions on how to seek and create community in order to grow your skills. I will be downloading additional volumes!
