Publisher's summary

The story of Captain Abrashoff and his command of USS Benfold has become legendary inside and outside the Navy. By governing his ship through his unique management techniques, Abrashoff turned the Benfold into a model of naval efficiency, with amazing cost savings, the highest gunnery score in the Pacific Fleet, and a highly motivated and top performing crew.

In It's Your Ship, he first demonstrated how to bring his successful management techniques from the ship to the boardroom. Now, in his newest book It's Your Ship - in the same rugged, can-do voice - Abrashoff will focus on the leadership, motivational, and management insights and tips that he has learned from his last six years of addressing business and corporate audiences.

Abrashoff's timely advice will be eminently prescriptive and will feature anecdotes and insights from leaders of businesses large and small and from public and non-profit sectors.

Wow! Can’t wait to share this!

A great book on leadership that I will use at work, home, church and the social groups I am a member/leader. I like how he incorporates the leadership principles in the stories and examples he ‘s experienced. I enjoyed it as a memoir in hearing about his life as a naval officer and the people he met and work with during that career.

Great Book

I have his first book "It's Your Ship," and this updated version is better than that. I use these theories at my job in the fire department to help with my daily operation. Good job Captain Abrashoff and thanks for the help.

Go to Book for Leadership

I have listened to this book numerous times. It is a go to for me. The stories are great and the lessons of leadership are timeless. It's an easy read/listen. It's a top three leadership that I've ever read, and I've gone through a lot of them...

Excellent Book about Leadership

This book in some ways was far better than the first. The author recognized that he didn't play well with other leaders particularly well and this book attempted to fix these criticisms. I particularly enjoyed this book as I am currently in the Army (having joined at a late age). However, this book should appeal to both military and non-military readers.
