"Absolutely terrificl! Wish I'd heard it sooner"
If you could sum up Investing 101, 2nd, Updated and Expanded Edition in three words, what would they be?

    Interesting. Understandable. Inspiring.bonus word: Reassuring

What was one of the most memorable moments of Investing 101, 2nd, Updated and Expanded Edition?

The difference between how men and women save and why so many women end up living in poverty in their old age.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I don't know why you would want to! But you will get more out of it if you track your spending for a month as she suggests so you can figure out a real vs a theoretical budget. She also provides worksheets to fill out ie: to calculate your comfort level with investment risk vs. the investment risk you should/shouldn't take because of your age.

    Any additional comments?

I spent hours deciding which audiobook to get because I've never managed to read through any of the print books I have purchased. I find this book interesting and inspiring. If you are intimidated by the idea of learning how to manage and invest your money..start with this book.

The narrator's voice was a bit too raspy/smoky for my taste at the beginning but it grew on me after a while :)

"Would you like someone to read you an Excel file?"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

There are many points in this audiobook where charts are read, in audio format, for long stretches (>30 seconds) at a time. Picture hearing "4 years .06, 5 years, .04" and onward. I fast forwarded many times, but eventually gave up.

The content of the book is completely undermined by not including reference PDFs strategically. If you prefer your charts in audio format, this audiobook is for you. Otherwise, stay clear.

    "Boring and Biased"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Good information but obvious bias towards women. Who, according to the author are much more sound investors. Yeah... what does that have to do with anything? The narrator is also pretty painful to listen to, I often toned out or fell asleep and didn't try to rewind. Not worth the credit.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Vanessa Hart?

    Nope!

    "Perfect for beginners!"
    Any additional comments?

For a while now, I've been a little nervous to take on the task of learning about investing. It always struck me as such a huge, complex, time sink. Like all large and complicated subjects, I knew I just had to jump in -- find some book that made it simple and easy to understand the basics-- and eventually everything would seem less scary. This book did exactly that for me! She gets straight to the point on all the basics, and doesn't venture into anything advanced or complex sounding too much -- which is usually what scared me off from other beginner investing books. I definitely recommend!
