This revised and updated edition of Inside the House of Money lifts the veil on the typically opaque world of hedge funds, offering a rare glimpse at how today's highest-paid money managers approach their craft. Now with new commentary, author Steve Drobny takes you even further into the hedge fund industry. He demystifies how these star traders make billions for their well-heeled investors, revealing their theories, strategies, and approaches to markets.
While some still maintain that rationality permeates financial markets, Drobny captures a different dimension, showing how the unquantifiable human forces of emotion and intuition are also at play. Along the way, listeners get an inside look at firsthand trading experiences through some of the major world financial crises of the last few decades, including tragedies such as September 11th. Whether its Russian bonds, Pakistani stocks, Southeast Asian currencies, or stakes in African brewing companies, no market or instrument is out of bounds for these elite global macro hedge fund managers.
Highly accessible and filled with in-depth expert opinion, Inside the House of Money is a must-listen for financial professionals and anyone else interested in understanding how greed, fear, and the human forces of emotion drive world markets.

I you personally guide any of your investments, this book is worth reading. There are no direct investment ideas, but it gives great insight into the mental mind-set of those who win in the market. I found it humbling and it has already saved me money by changing my mindset on when to cut bait and when to keep fishing.
I have over 500 books in my library
Actual Ideas from successful Traders/Investors and even somewhat recent time periods
The general depth of the traders/investors mindset and lots of decent ideas
BAHAHAHAHAAHA Chapter 15 voice over Heckle and Jeckle AHAHAHAHA =]
Yeah but too long for that
I really enjoyed Market wizards by Jack Schwager with the in depth interviews and this book to me was very similar in structure.. and in even more of a recent time frame.. With over 470 books in my audio library and 95% of those in finance .. this one definitely ranks among the top tier that I will certainly listen to multiple times... Very well done!!!
I would say the middle. I wasn't too impressed with the book, especially after hearing Market Wizards. The storyline occurs in the 90s to mid 2000s and misses the financial crash entirely. You can see the prescience of some of the investors. This book was not as mind blowing as the others I've read but it's not useless or a waste of time either.
He gets better towards the end but the first part is a bore. I sped up the book 1.25-1.50x as his slow British accent was putting me to sleep. You get more vocal variety towards the middle-end where it starts sounding good.
yes off course, it has a lot of information that needs to be heard again to hit home
The candidness of some of the interviewees, and lucid explanations
The performance was not bad. he tried to do some accents, that was appreciated.
It has taught me a lot, no doubt about it. how to look at ideas, where to source ideas from etc
great book for anyone interested in macro trading
Quiet some good interviews with numerous hedge fund managers about the fascinating world of global macro investing, or in other words:How smart people profit from the insane dictates of our rulers, who create distortions in the markets that have to return to equilibrium.
I had some small problems about some people's hope on regulation to fix the risk appetite problems. Unfortunately benefit is expected to have some people rule with implicit threats of violence over other people. It seems unlikely to me that people in the government, dabbling with the involuntary obtained money of their serfs, are reliably constraining the risk taking of hedge fund managers. Instead through their central banks put a back stop in the losses of hedge funds, aggravating the risk appetite.
Other than that an interesting read if you are into this subject.
