Very good points.

Some of the most memorable ideas in this book are:

a) If you want to have an innovation adopted by the public, avoid the innovators, and talk to opinion leaders. Innovators are ignored because they are different.

b) People will be persuaded if they believe:
1.- Change is worth it.
2.- Change is doable.

There are six influence strategies: Social, Personal and Structural, and then adding worthiness and doability give you 3 x 2 = 6 strategies.

The narration is good, can be understood at three times normal speed, and I slowed down sometimes to take in all that was being said.

Fantastic

If as a current or aspiring manager or leader you are frustrated because you feel you've gone at a problem in as many ways as you can and still don't see success than this book is a fantastic listen. The concepts are great not only for integrating into your current skill sets but for recognizing when they are or are not happening around you. Kudos to the authors for coming together and introducing these academics and agents of positive change through influence and their stories all in one place. I'll listen again, next time taking notes.

Great Researches

I was driven by the authors' previous title Crucial Confrontation where they give many practical examples and enriches their concept. This book is no exception and I benefited alot from practical examples across the globe given by the well researched authors.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

How would I know what to change about this book? I'm not the one claiming to be an expert of influencing the behavior of other people.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I was glad to finish it, I was getting bored. And I reminded myself that, in the future, I need to double check if the book is primarily written by a woman before I start listening.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I honestly am not impacted much by the narrator. I'm listening to the content intently, trying to absorb it. Just read it to me clearly and I'm good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No. Well, maybe... if it showed graphic examples of people suffering from the Guinea Worm.

Powerful ! See your world differently .

This empowered me to see my world differently enabling me to create change. It is a book of possibilities for progress. It helped me to take principles and generate possibilities in my own environment.

It's worth it.

I usually don't write reviews but I read a lot of negative ones - and it just about made me not buy this book. I say it's worth it - if you are a leader of any kind - you need to know how to influence your staff - I say it's worth it.
