©2008 Zig Ziglar; (P)2008 Made For Success
These are some "Zigisms" that you may have heard in the past. In the 80's when I first heard some of this information, it took me to the "next level." Today, when I've accomplished more than I ever dreamed I could have, complacency had begun to take hold in my life. Zig has reinvigorated me with his stories and timeless truths.
Zig, his great stories, style, and delivery, give me a chuckle of truth realization.
I've seen him live in the 80's several times. After each seminar, even after a repeat of some of the same material, my productivity and income increased. This has brought up some of the same feelings one gets from experiencing a high point from your past, that encourages you to spring forward into a more fulfilling future.
NO, there are so many truisms in this book; that one listens to a section, evaluates the best application to their life, writes down the goals derived from that section, then puts them into practice. Then I like to replay that section to pick up that which I missed on the first listen.
This is a book I will listen to many times. It will be a good book for each January.
I've heard so much about Zig Ziglar in the past, and thought I'd check him out. Unfortunately, Zig is everything I hate about public speaking. It's a big show, it's not science-based - he even tells the star fish story! To be fair, it's likely that he created a lot of the stereotypical stories that bad speakers use today. But it doesn't change the fact that this is feel-good stuff, without much to back it up.
Zig lifts me up when I am down; makes me believe in myself when I have doubts; draws me closer to God when I feel lost; Zig Zigler is just a awesome motivator and person.
Makes you laugh till you cry.
I really enjoy Zig Ziglar's books. This was just a cheap way to get a new title out of prior material. Very disappointing.
Waste of money........
Zig Ziglar is an awesome trainer, inspirational speaker and great mentor. His teachings are real and a lot of time will hit close to home and funny at the same time. I have listened to this particular book several times and I have found it not only reminds me of things I a have forgotten but I pick up something new every time as well. He makes learning fun and that sure does help keep a person motivated.
Zig Ziglar sure puts a lot of life into his teachings.
I laughed a lot.
I also, learned a lot. It opened my eyes to some things some I never thought about. Made want to listen over and over again.
I'm sure Zig has great thoughts. But he doesn't finish them. He just rambles on and puts a story in a story. It's hard to be motivated because I don't have any takeaways. I have listened to about 20 minutes and totally regret this purchase. His strong accent coupled with the rambling makes everything hard to follow. I would recommend reading this as a book if you are going to try to get anything out of it.
Needs more structure!
Someone who is a professional narrator - not a personality.
Disappointment and confusion.
I would get back to part of it sometime next year. repeating the information helps you to remeber
How to Win Friends and Influence People. I admit they are two different categories but make you understand yourself and the message is that everything around you is affected by you. No matter what your personality is. Try to understand yourself, help others, and you make an improvement around you that benefits everyone.
A lady who was complaining about her job and could not find anything good about it. The final closing sentence of "you can't believe how the people in the office have changed" is funny
Automotive university and using time. I listen to audible books or music while working out which is much better than watching TV with all the reality TV shows and meaningless video clips
He has high energy and transfers it to listeners. I think because the audible is recoreded in front of audience, it has more emotion
Zig Ziglar is such an inspiring, motivating and entertaining person. This is THE best audibook that I've ever listened to and it is one that you can listen to again and again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I loved it! I love being able to listen to something that will help me grow as a person while traveling rather than just passing time.
His personality and humor in the tone of his voice.
The importance of adding value to other people's lives.
I'm not sure. He has a great reputation but this was the opposite of motivating!
Zig is a great speaker and keeps your attention. Humorous at times but you'll hear those jokes again and again and again
Get a card. Write down positive affirmations you want to live by. Do it everyday and someday you will probably believe it. Don't waste 7+ hours
"Wonderful in Every Way"
If you've not heard of Zig Ziglar you are in for a treat, Zig is an amazing speaker & will keep you entertained, make you laugh, make you think & make you look at your own life. This man is speaking from experience & from his perspective on life. I never thought I'd be able to listen to this audio book with his Southern accent, yet, I fell in love with the accent & his words of wisdom. He can get carried away and forget where he was, yet, he'll end up to what he wanted to say. Again it's a book that is well worth the read, it'll make you think & encourage you to motivate your life.
"Real down to earth guy"
In Zig's down to earth style, these lectures 'rock' with common-sense ideas that are fast becoming uncommon. I only wish that Zig would remember that he is not only talking to Americans - but to people all around the world - that way he would have tried to explain concepts and slangs that only Americans would understand.
However, the Audiobook is a great source of motivational ideas.
"A bit Preachy"
Starts off really well, but then get a bit preachy and biblical. Loses momentum and i found myself drifting thinking of other things whilst this was playing in the background - sounds quite dated too.
"Stand up comic & career manager rolled into one!"
A collection of old Zig Zigar tapes in put together in a new format. Zig is one of the original fathers of the personal development industry. You laugh your head off at his humor whilst learning valuable life lessons.
I really enjoyed this audiobook.loved the accent.Great life stories.worth a listen to in my opinion.
"Would've made an excellent short , padded too much"
Clever reader involvement but took too long to get to point.
Voice was very intriguing
Stay motivated The concise version for people in a hurry.
Clever guy, just needs less rumination.
"good common sense with religious undertones!"
I likes the messages within the cd and the stories and hummer used, i found the cd a little bit preshy and felt one of the life messages was to find faith!
i would not try another book, this one was a series of studio and seminar recordings which repeat, repetition seems to be key to staying motivated as with a lot of things in life. i imagen any further recordings would be of a similar nature.u could just listen to the same cd again and again!
it is very old fashioned and feels like an old recording in style, very 1990 american chat show/ american church style.
"Wow, fantastic book!"
Good old Zig didnt disappoint. I have listened to most, if not all of his podcasts, have read many of his books and this one was another gem. For anyone looking for real motivation, read this book. You will not be disappointed. Zig, thank you very much. I'll keep reading this book till I commit your advice to memory and its a part of me. For everything you shared in this book, thank you! Your books are helping me change my life. I cannot wait to see myself in 5 years. God bless your family.
I have listened to this three times so far. I say so far, because I will listen to it time and time again. It keeps me focused, it keeps me grounded. What an amazing man Zig Ziglar is. I find myself quoting him often and it always makes people laugh.
His technique is to entertain whilst you learn but with a strong, clear message. Not easy I'm sure, but he delivers it so well.
I highly recommend this. Even if you don't think you need to, you will find it beneficial, I'm sure.
"Common Sense, Straight Talking and Good Humour"
I came too late to Zig Ziglar; only learning of the great man after his passing. I had always meant to listen to some of his stuff but never got around to it. An Audible trial was the ideal opportunity to try it out and I have been delighted with it (both Audible and this recording). Zig's common sense, straight talking and good humour makes listening to these recordings an absolute delight and he has me driving around with a smile on my face as I listen to his Southern drawl via my car's bluetooth device for my iPhone. This is my first time listening to Zig's stuff and I do not know the extent to which this compilation is repetitious, but as a newcomer it is tremendously good material and you get a huge volume of it in this one item. Zig was clearly a very religious man and this comes across very strongly in his talks; this may not be to everyone's taste but as with everything Zig does he carries it off very lightly and in a very charming way which I did not find overbearing despite the fact that that was not what I was listening for. I'm only about halfway through this bumper set but I have no hesitation in recommending it very highly.
