This was the first book on sales that I've ever read or heard. It showed me I've been doing things at least half right in my personal training business. Even better, it also showed me the next steps I need to do to prioritize, retain and gain new clients. This book has sound advice for any business.
I loved the true essence of the book.
I speaks of what sales should be about.
If you only read one sales book this should be the one that's if you want to really make a mark and succeed in your career.
After 21 years in direct sales, I had no idea selling was this complicated. Nor did I realize there were so many "laws". It seems Todd is trying to re-invent the wheel. The information is not very practical for most salespeople. I was going to recommend it to my team but, I don't want to scare them. No KISS method here or anything else for that matter.
This audiobook is for the experienced sales professional. It focuses on overall goals and strategies instead of scripts. It is must have for someone who wishes to attain true success.
Todd has some incredible insight into selling with integrity and cutting through the BS. This is one of the best career books I have ever read... and I listen to one a week. Get this book; you WILL learn valuable skills.
One of my goals this year is to learn more about the art of professional sales. Even though that is not my primary function, as an entrepreneur in a start-up its important that everyone be in sales. I listened to the audio version and it felt a little like I was sitting in a cheesy sales seminar at times. In the beginning it was giving advice like - 'use technology' and 'read lots of books'. It was also heavily loaded with buzzwords. However it did get better the further I got into it, and I was able to extract a few interesting nuggets. That being said - this is my first sales book, so I have nothing really to compare to.
