The real world business cases and references and some sharing of what has worked well for the writer.
Lots of good material, well narrated.
"Not a bad book"
I am from Dubai and bought the book because it is on the top 5 non-fiction bestsellers on Dubaicity.com. I enjoyed the book! Short, sweet, and to the point!
"The only credible thing is the title"
I bought this book based on the title, assuming Harvard Business School would have some good idea's. And having seen some good reviews else where. Honestly the only thing clever about the book is the title that evokes credibility. I found this book very basic and with no real new insights or value. It may be useful to someone who's starting out in business for the first time having lived under a rock for the years prior, but if you have been in business or read any books on it before then pass on this one.
The examples are painful to listen to and go into great detail to describe meanings of basic business terms. For example "inductive logic" was demonstrated as:
"I like gentle and clean cats,
Mylo is a cat,
Mylo is also gentle and clean,
Therefore i like Mylo"
Thats actually the text from the book! Mylo feature in several examples, in that chapter.
Having listened to about 90% of the business catalog here on Audible I believe this is by far the worst book thus far. I strongly suggest you spend your time some other way.
I consider the book, HBS Confidential, a prize for me personally. It's very stimulating and informative. So much so, that I'm considering returning to school.
I almost didn't buy this book because one of the reviews was bad. But ended up buying anyway because that reviewer has a business degree and I do not. I am glad I bought the book. Saw on author's facebook page that other people who bought the audio book was also quite happy. You won't regret buying the book.
"A must to read it !"
Just finished listening to the book. It is an excellent book, perhaps one of the greatest business book I ever read. I am an engineer by training but in biz now and can really appreciate how the book is structured and the examples were chosen. The book has many good tools and stuff (e.g. lots of emphasis on data, data validation and finally let the data speaks for us...) in the book. This is a must-read for everyone.

I bought the audio book because of the review I read on various book review sites. I have been in business for 20 years and I have been searching for a book that summarizes the key concepts and approaches that I have learned painfully through experience.
I reckon this book is the closest thing I have seen so far. I actually quite liked the Mylo the cat examples. In fact, I didn't know what 'inductive logic' was until I read this book. Different strokes for different folks, I guess!
