Publisher's summary

The global financial crisis that erupted in 2008 exposed the flaws in many investment strategies. This book explores the controversies that surround the management of wealth and provides guidance on how to construct investment strategies that are appropriate for each investor.

With its detailed analysis, supported by data and anecdotes, it is above all a practical guide. It shows how the insights of behavioural analysis are widely reflected in investor behaviour, while emphasising the importance of basing investment strategy on the principles of traditional finance. And it takes into account new research into behavioural and traditional finance which has created new understandings of what investors want to achieve and investors' customary mistakes.

This third fully updated and extensively revised edition includes a wide analysis of alternative investments such as art and wine.

it's Definitions require a dictionary

I was struggling to finish, having to pause to think things through. I didn't understand their definitions and explanations. I had to use Google which gave more understandable definitions. all of Chapter 4 I took notes and didn't understand their explanations. then in Chapter 9. once again they were explaining stuff and they used language that simply isn't layman's terms. I restarted the Chapter and I simply had to write down the terms and use Google.

Like an MBA refresher course

Felt like I was back in my MBA Advanced Finance course. I'll never need it but now I know how to evaluate a hedge fund!

Good but hot great

Mark Meadows gets a 5 for performance. The content of this was only ok, though I think there are better investment books out there as recommended by Warren Buffet. The book introduced many ideas like keatosis, volitity, diversification and the sharpe ratio. Warren Buffet considers investment risk to equal buisness risk and not the volatility of the share, which contradicts the books viewpoint.

Very bad narration by narrator.

This defect effectively spoiled this audiobook. I couldn't finish it. The content might be good but it didn't matter.

Informative

It was the audiobook I needed, but did not want. Certain chapters were drier than others. I would recommend this audiobook to everyone I know. Next, I will listen to "Guide to the European Union".
