A corporate fairytale for 16 year olds

A lovely story about a boy whose father was a business “leader” of some sort and on his deathbed told his son that he could be a leader too someday. Then the boy found the perfect mentor, landed his dream job directly after college, and learned from the very nice people he worked with how to be a team-player while being super-encouraged and supported and looked up to immediately. Ridiculous. If you are an adult who has any type of actual struggles in life or a personality, stay far away from this one. So boring and I actually laughed out loud and screamed into the sky so many times “whose world is this?!”

What it means to grow as a leader

I am grateful for another helpful book by Ken Blanchard and team on becoming a leader. I love the story format, even though they are a bit shallow at times. It gives the reader the opportunity to become part of the storyline. I'll be reading the book again as well as recommending it to others.

Okay with an abrupt end

I listened to this over a couple of days. It was decent enough, but the story seemed farfetched with a guy in his early 20s gaining so much respect in such a short amount of time. The principles were good, but the story needs work. Also, it ends abruptly. I was like, "Is that it?"

Leadership foundation

They use a great story to give a fresh perspective on some basic leadership principles. The story is well told and regardless of your level in a organization can be applied to your life.

Great leadership book.

I listen to this book twice to finally get it. Not because it was difficult but because the 1st time I just went through the motion and barely remembered the key points. The 2nd time I was more committed to learn and grow. So I took notes, stopped the audio and replayed it to take notes. As I did that it helped me internalize the advices and self evaluate to see where I was as a leader and what I needed to work on to grow. Great book and it wasn't too lenghty.
