It's pretty rough to listen to formula's. In addition the answers to practice questions aren't available unless you BUY THE BOOK. !@#$%^&*(
Quantitative finance is not a good subject for audio presentation without some visual aid. Maybe a book form is much better.
I'm giving it 1 star because the reading is just unacceptable. There are no post processing at all. The reader will read a sentence, made some mistakes and reread it correctly, and the mistakes were not edited out. I count at least 20 of those mistakes. The reader is hard to understand and he didn't pronounce many of the words clearly.
If it were a real Unabridged version.
The abridged version jumps over important information.
Misreads parts of the text and then apologizes for misreading the text.
I would have made it a true Unabridged version with a professional reader (that practiced their lined before recording).
Audible should investigate this recording and find out who authorized payment for such a poor quality abridged version. The book has got some very important information in it, but the recording is of poor quality. Just read the book and skip the recording.
It is the first audiobook I am listening too fron Audible or Librivox that performer makes a mistake, corrects it and continues! It is very distracting. It has not edit at all!Aslo he does not read all the examples.
I am very disappointed and if it was possible I was gona to cancel the book purchase.
The book itself is a good book in my opinion the problem is just the performance.
"Useful information with very bad presentation"
Written - yes, narrated - no.
Narration is awful.
I think the paperback version of the book might actually be quite good. The audible version is complete shambles, and worth nothing. The author (narrator) mumbles a lot, and repeats words he mispronounces. The appears to be no post-record editing done at all, as if the record has being done in one go by a tired person late at night. Formulae are difficult to comprehend when they are read out at the best of times, and they are impossible to grasp when read out in the way they are in this audiobook. Get a paperback if the subject is of interest, do not waste money on the audio version.
