I like Brian Tracy. He has some good ideas. However, if you have read any of his other books (Crunch Time or Eat That Frog! for example) then you have heard this material. It's the same old stuff with the idea that you should have a plan and a goal. It's good stuff, and worth hearing, but if you have been exposed to his work before...save yourself the time and don't bother listening to this.
As a secondary note, I was shocked at how poor the production value is on this. I know it's just the author reading a book, and it's not a $200 million movie or anything, but for goodness sake...at one point in the book you actually hear a dog barking in the background! C'mon Mr. Tracy...record in a professional studio, not your house!
I really wanted to like this audiobook, but for whatever reason - I just couldn't connect with it. No offense, but the author just isn't very enthusiastic in the reading. I honestly couldn't listen to any more past chapter II. Sorry!
In this audio, Tracy makes a summary of his most common teachings by using the analogy of a flight plan. The teachings are very practical and to the point, but if you are familiar with his material you won't find anything new here.
I am extremely satisfied with this audio book purchase. Brian Tracy is motivational and inspiring. I find that relistening to this book periodically is productive.
I have gleaned many useful concepts from this book, which I have been using to establish and refine my personal longer term goals that I refer to on a regular basis. This book presents a useful framework for actionable goal setting.
Mr. Tracy presents his philosophy for dealing with setbacks. Your personal success starts with a quality flight plan. You've got to know where you're going and how you will get there. Like a plane in flight, we will be off target a lot of the time en route to our destinations or goals. It is unavoidable and a normal experience to move one step forward and two steps back at times. Many obstacles may lie in our path to realizing our objectives, not the least of which is people. People will disappoint, sometimes betray or otherwise get in our way. Get over it. Focus. Contingency plan. Be prepared for everything. If you start a business or venture into some new area, things will cost more and take longer than you expect. Expect that. Persist, persist. Easier said than done. I really do love this audio book.
And, yes, you can at one very brief point hear a dog. It's barely perceptible, this does not detract from the narration at all. The overall audio quality is professional and comparable to other audio books I have listened to.
I have not read any of Mr. Tracy's other work.
I enjoy Brian Tracy's material. Simple approach, actionable steps. This just takes you to the basics, which at the end of the day what creates results.
This is a book on how to plot your course to greater success and achievement. In this book, he gives you the tools to help you set and plan your path.
In working to achieve your dreams, you need clear goals, plans, and schedules to get to where you want to be. And like any good pilot, you need a flight plan before you begin to use and to guide you on your way. This book does that... Great reading!!!
I think this is the second book to read in your path to success.
1) Eat That Frog
2) Flight Plan
If you have not read anything else by the author this is a good place to get it all.
When you get about 1 hour and 28 minutes into it listen carefully, it sounds like his dog was trying to add his two cents in.
Maybe the next one should be in a studio.
It ranks among the ones with good information that should be applied.
Zig Ziglar setting & achieving goals. Which Zig has a better voice for reading books and isn't monotone.
This is Brian Tracy read by Brian Tracy and he is the one character.
