"Few people have done more to inspire an entrepreneur revolution and give entrepreneurs the tools and advice they need to grow their businesses in recent years than Dan. What I love about what he says and what he writes is that it all comes from a deep personal experience of bootstrapping a successful global small business himself from little more than a maxed out credit card." (Mike Harris, Founder of FirstDirect and Egg PLC, author of Find Your Lightbulb)
"Daniel’s book is a brilliant resource to help entrepreneurs ‘find their place’ and live the ‘entrepreneur revolution dream’." (Alistair Lukies, CEO of Monitise)
"Daniel Priestley’s book Entrepreneur Revolution perfectly teaches how to adopt an enterprising, street-smart mindset that produces results. His own failures, like mine, have taught him valuable and practical down-to-earth lessons which any aspiring leaders can learn from and will enjoy trying and applying themselves." (Lara Morgan, Founder of Pacific Direct)
"Daniel Priestley is one of a kind. Having worked with him for many years now, I can clearly see his unique ability to intuitively identify a collective need and provide a completely innovative solution, always at the right time and in the right place." (Andrew Griffiths, Australia’s number-one small-business author)
"This book will totally change the way you think about growing a business. An absolute must read that should be in the hands of more people." (Jeremy Harbour, author of Go Do!)
Absolutely. It is a wonderful book, especially to anyone who is thinking of becoming an entrepreneur. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I am currently listening to it for the 2nd time, some parts i've heard about 7 times.
Haven't read any books that compare yet.
Excellent reading by Glen McCready.
I think the title is perfect, gripping: Entrepreneur Revolution, sounds like Atlas Shrugged.
I am directing a Municipal Entrepreneurship Center in a developing country. Needless to say, the challenges we are facing are huge, but so are the opportunities. I am also a mentor for this center, and I have to admit sometimes I run out of ideas. That is until I downloaded this audiobook. It is completely filled with valuable tips, strategies and insights that I have found very helpful. From the "product ecosystem" to the "7 maxims" that every entrepreneur should follow, I enjoyed every second. I absolutely recommend it for anyone who is thinking about joining the entrepreneur revolution.
Yes. It was filled with so many insights and valuable pieces of information that it will take more than one sitting to fully digest!
"Stop reading other peoples books and writ your own!"
Clear and matter of fact.
Yes. Had to space it over two days though..
Highly recommend this book for everyone. It opens a vision of an abundant life possible to those willing to put the effort in, and with access to a little luck..
A very insightful and practical book that has changed the way I view my business and the opportunities that our global market has... A must read for anyone at any stage of business to thrive in the new economy. It has helped me focus on the joy of creating and not consuming, plus given me a strategic road map to bring greater value to my clients and profit to my bottom line. Thanks Daniel!
This book put me in the right mind set. I am 22 years old and an aspiring entrepreneur. I had very little idea on where to start with becoming an entrepreneur and this book gave me a great starting point. I highly recommend it and will revisit this book regularly!
This is one of the most important books for entrepreneurs you can read today.
It covers the essential mindset and action plan for entrepreneurship in easy to grasp way that no other book that I've come across does.
Great thoughts on entrepreneurship. Focuses on the entrepreneur's mindset and taking action, but also has more tangible content, like methods and techniques. Lean forward and have a listen!
I’ve been toying with the concept of an entrepreneurial venture for quite some time. This book has given me the inspiration and an process to implement an action plan. I’ve now listened to the book twice, and I plan to re-listen to it multiple times throughout my process.
Easy to understand.
Why not the "Entrepreneurial Revolution"? It was intriguing enough for me to buy the audio book.
The content and the fact that it is relevant to my way of life and thought. I want to work on my own for myself, so I picked up this book. The ATM seems helpful.
Accentuation of the text. Not a flat reader. Much appreciated.
The entrepreneur revolution - How to make it on your own.
Love the breakdown of the different models and phases to becoming an entrepreneur. Many things that I've been grappling with and considering, Daniel lays out very simply. Daniel encourages you to read / listen to the book more than once. I've already done it three times and will definitely do it again! Thanks Daniel.
This audiobook was interesting with some great ideas and an excellent narrator. I am an audible member and listen to business audiobooks regularly. Some of them are drab, yet this one definitely kept my attention throughout. Kudos to the author and audiobook narrator. Well done!
"Not for me"
I enjoyed the opening few chapters which were positive and full of enthusiasm but I'm afraid once the book got practical, it lost me. I realised pretty quickly that I'm not an "entrepreneur" in the sense of this book, even though I've set up and run 4 successful businesses in the past decade. I have no desire to create a global business or to have great wealth. My businesses are there to support my way of life.
The idea of walking around with £1,000 in my pocket just so I can refuse to buy things I could get with that wad of cash is, for me, totally ludicrous. The idea of making 3 calls randomly, inviting a stranger to lunch etc etc. Nope. Even more crazy is the contention that I need to price my core product at £1,000+. I sell craft kits. Lots of them. But none cost a grand.
By the terms of this book, I'm an abject failure. Fortunately for me, I'm a happy one.
The narration is pretty good - nice to have an English accent for a change. He does sound a little like C3PO when played at 1.5x speed.
Easy reading/listening. Very succinct and to the point. Relates to all ages. Use especially as a tool to help generate thought processes and ideas.
"Fantastic guide and outlook of the brave new world"
I already have listened to this twice. \at first I thought YES! This is how i feel. Even though it only goes for 5 hours its jammed packed with value
Daniel Priestley...his the only character
Very well spoken and performed.
I didn't want to stop listening once i started.
This book was exactly what I needed at the right time. It outlines everything I agree with in the changing world and highlights things we should be doing in enjoy what we want out of life even beyond business. It's packed with an impressive amount of value and encouragement. Can't wait to listen again!
What a book loved it so much that I read it twice so it is definitely worth a read I promise you
"Inspiring, provocative and at times quite simple really"
Once you get used to the narrators tone and delivery style you begin to engage with the content and of course Daniel. A very enjoyable and insightful experience, I would definitely recommend.
"A real kickstarter"
This was a fabulous listen throughout it was e Carly what I needed at just the right time. I am embarking on similar trends and themes within the book. Starting a new business and writing my own book on experienced in business. This book keeps you engaged with real world anecdotes which offer a sense of belief which will help you move forward in your own perspective field. Look forward to listening again - thank you for a great kick in the right direction I needed it! Adam Hutchison
"I really enjoyed this book!"
I have been flirting with being an entrepreneur for years but only this year have I decided I can absolutely not work for someone else but must create the something that puts me in the sweet spot. This book along with Business Model You, Business Model Generation and Value Proposition Design has pushed me over the cliff and I'm doing it. I'm confident that with perseverance it is going to go well.
"Good messages if you can get past the buzz."
It's not that there aren't valuable lessons and insights here- there are, but Daniel Priestley likes to weigh them down with clichés, over-burdened stories and worst of all- buzz.
It goes something like this. Repeat the word 'Entrepreneur revolution' in as laboured a way as possible about 600 times. Invent something called the 'entrepreneur sweet spot,' tell the audience that there is a 'hidden ingredient' in the book and he won't tell you what this is. Then use BuzzFeed style lists like, the three levels, oh wait there's three more- and a "bonus level." Then the "three ingredients" and the six sayings and the forty dance moves of successful people ..ok I'm taking the Mickey a bit now, but you get the idea.
There are some interesting aspects to the book, and it's worth a read, but some of the sections are cringe, laboured and patronising.
More of a book for those stuck in a 9-5 as opposed to those looking to start a business. There are some practical points but it mostly philosophy and musings on societal change.
"Inspiring Reality Check"
I think this is a brilliant wake-up call book to help any budding entrepreneur to embrace their next adventure. It provides useful tips, knowledge and most importantly, the encouragement to take the next step.
A great read.
I am a man in midlife crisis. Constant feeling of no purpose and adding value in my job despite a excellent salary. Book has given me a lot of confidence to take preliminary steps towards alternative lifestyle. Very practical suggestions to succeeding in own business. Feel lucky to have stumbled upon this book.
