"Few people have done more to inspire an entrepreneur revolution and give entrepreneurs the tools and advice they need to grow their businesses in recent years than Dan. What I love about what he says and what he writes is that it all comes from a deep personal experience of bootstrapping a successful global small business himself from little more than a maxed out credit card." (Mike Harris, Founder of FirstDirect and Egg PLC, author of Find Your Lightbulb)
"Daniel’s book is a brilliant resource to help entrepreneurs ‘find their place’ and live the ‘entrepreneur revolution dream’." (Alistair Lukies, CEO of Monitise)
"Daniel Priestley’s book Entrepreneur Revolution perfectly teaches how to adopt an enterprising, street-smart mindset that produces results. His own failures, like mine, have taught him valuable and practical down-to-earth lessons which any aspiring leaders can learn from and will enjoy trying and applying themselves." (Lara Morgan, Founder of Pacific Direct)
"Daniel Priestley is one of a kind. Having worked with him for many years now, I can clearly see his unique ability to intuitively identify a collective need and provide a completely innovative solution, always at the right time and in the right place." "This book will totally change the way you think about growing a business. An absolute must read that should be in the hands of more people." (Jeremy Harbour, author of Go Do!)
The content and the fact that it is relevant to my way of life and thought. I want to work on my own for myself, so I picked up this book. The ATM seems helpful.
Accentuation of the text. Not a flat reader. Much appreciated.
The entrepreneur revolution - How to make it on your own.
Absolutely. It is a wonderful book, especially to anyone who is thinking of becoming an entrepreneur. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I am currently listening to it for the 2nd time, some parts i've heard about 7 times.
Haven't read any books that compare yet.
Excellent reading by Glen McCready.
I think the title is perfect, gripping: Entrepreneur Revolution, sounds like Atlas Shrugged.
I am directing a Municipal Entrepreneurship Center in a developing country. Needless to say, the challenges we are facing are huge, but so are the opportunities. I am also a mentor for this center, and I have to admit sometimes I run out of ideas. That is until I downloaded this audiobook. It is completely filled with valuable tips, strategies and insights that I have found very helpful. From the "product ecosystem" to the "7 maxims" that every entrepreneur should follow, I enjoyed every second. I absolutely recommend it for anyone who is thinking about joining the entrepreneur revolution.
Yes. It was filled with so many insights and valuable pieces of information that it will take more than one sitting to fully digest!
"Stop reading other peoples books and writ your own!"
Clear and matter of fact.
Yes. Had to space it over two days though..
Highly recommend this book for everyone. It opens a vision of an abundant life possible to those willing to put the effort in, and with access to a little luck..
Love the breakdown of the different models and phases to becoming an entrepreneur. Many things that I've been grappling with and considering, Daniel lays out very simply. Daniel encourages you to read / listen to the book more than once. I've already done it three times and will definitely do it again! Thanks Daniel.
This audiobook was interesting with some great ideas and an excellent narrator. I am an audible member and listen to business audiobooks regularly. Some of them are drab, yet this one definitely kept my attention throughout. Kudos to the author and audiobook narrator. Well done!
It is very easy to follow, and well laid-out. The narrator is easy to listen to. The book left me feeling excited about my future and the potential to brighten it. Not that a book can DO anything for you...you must do it yourself...but it certainly helps challenge you to think about your future and to take action. At the end of the day, though, it's up to you to take the action.
Yes, I'd have loved to do it all in one sitting.
Every point Daniel makes in the book just seemed to click. Put his ideas into practice and you begin to see instant results, or at least I did.
When Daniel talked about the Lizard, Monkey, and Empire Building mindsets it really stuck with me and I realized most people live their lives as "Lizards" or "Monkeys". Once you decide to live like an "Empire Builder" and really strive for that, it changes everything.
Glen McCready's voice is perfect for this book, I never became bored or distracted at any point. His voice is easy to listen to and I'd honestly prefer him over many of the other narrators you find with audiobooks.
The "Ten Challenges" are a great part of the book that really made me sit back and assess myself and how I live my life. I am going to have to listen to the chapter that covers them a few times and continually try and strive towards accepting these challenges.
A great read, superb in fact. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
I am so happy to find this audiobook here. The book is full of useful information and practical advises. It tells you what to do and almost coaches you how to. Really great!
A very insightful and practical book that has changed the way I view my business and the opportunities that our global market has... A must read for anyone at any stage of business to thrive in the new economy. It has helped me focus on the joy of creating and not consuming, plus given me a strategic road map to bring greater value to my clients and profit to my bottom line. Thanks Daniel!
A classic work from a successful marketing professional. Shallow, self congratulatory and filled with fluff.
"Not for me"
I enjoyed the opening few chapters which were positive and full of enthusiasm but I'm afraid once the book got practical, it lost me. I realised pretty quickly that I'm not an "entrepreneur" in the sense of this book, even though I've set up and run 4 successful businesses in the past decade. I have no desire to create a global business or to have great wealth. My businesses are there to support my way of life.
The idea of walking around with £1,000 in my pocket just so I can refuse to buy things I could get with that wad of cash is, for me, totally ludicrous. The idea of making 3 calls randomly, inviting a stranger to lunch etc etc. Nope. Even more crazy is the contention that I need to price my core product at £1,000+. I sell craft kits. Lots of them. But none cost a grand.
By the terms of this book, I'm an abject failure. Fortunately for me, I'm a happy one.
The narration is pretty good - nice to have an English accent for a change. He does sound a little like C3PO when played at 1.5x speed.
"An inspiring read for entrepreneurs"
I've been able to listen to this whilst at work and I don't often get the time to sit down and read factual books so being able to listen is great for me
I already have a small company that continues to develop and I could see how I could apply some of these ideas to it with a little help and guidance
I think he read well with all the intonations in the right places
No, its too long. Listening to it in several sittings gives you a chance to digest what has been said and think about the application
Thanks Daniel Priestley for writing an inspiring and useful book that I can apply to my business
"Business for the modern age"
Yes. A deep and powerful book that has the most practical advice and insights into how to create a successful modern-day business. Daniel Priestley is on a mission to have people take control of their lives through entrepreneurship - I kid you not.
The human brain for entrepreneurs. One of the most practically useful models of the human psyche that I've read. What stops us, what motivates us, how we can be so destructive, and yet capable too of reaching extraordinary heights.
Perfect narration. Clear and easy to listen.
Yes. About the only business book to have that effect!
Read it a number of times to get the most from it.
"One of the Best Business Books I've read Thus far!"
The whole book was very insightful. The language used was easily accessible but the main moment in the book which "moved me" was how obvious and easy implementing the book's key ideas are after reading the book, making me feel extremely motivated to become a part of the entrepreneur revolution.
This book is a must read for who wants to live and working doing something they love!
"Full of practical nuggets for 2014 & beyond"
One of the most practical & applicable
It's full of insights & practical ideas
This is essential listening for anyone in business. I work in the internet training arena & this book succinctly & expertly delivers heaps of practical advice & inspiration that any listener / reader can immediately apply to their business whilst reinforcing a whole new paradigm of what work is in today's age. Highly recommended. If you're reading this Daniel Priestly & team, please convert 'Key Person of Influence' to audiobook.
"Inspiration that is actionable!"
The audio version influences your subconscious thinking, whilst the print version reaffirms actions. Both used together are wholly productive.
Yes and wanted to listen again and again. As each time you listen another action becomes more possible.
Daniel has a gift for making you understand your that your life's experience is a "mountain of value". Throw into the mix a series of practical challenges that will help you progress with your ideas and development (personally and professionally) and you realise you have an exciting adventure of possibilities ahead of you.
"Excellent a must read!"
Yes, to take notes
For anyone thinking about going into business, this book is insightful. Learn from someone who has already been there. Some of the methods are unconventional but defiantly work!
An excellent read that gives you a very objective view of the world we live in, how to break out of that mentality and solid advice about constructing a scalable business. I ended up buying the Kindle version of this too!
The Four Hour Work Week by Time Ferriss. Daniel helps you adjust your outlook on the world.
The narrator sounds interested in the text - almost as if it was being read by the author.
Wake up and take control of your life!
"This book is a must read for any entrepreneur"
Yes - Daniel has provided a philosophy and methodology that has transformed the way that I am approaching setting up my new business.
The Ascending Transaction Model (ATM) approach to sales.
No - I listened to it twice over a few sittings.
What an inspiring read - especially when it is being read to you by your iPhone while on the jogging machine!
So many of Daniel’s observations and so much of his experience rang true as I struggle to set up another business (I know there is an empire builder in there somewhere)!
His philosophy, methodology and ideas have re-inspired me as I realise that what I am going through is not unusual and that I just need to lean in, stretch myself and remember that I’m actually doing something that I love doing. Creating remarkability was never going to be easy.
Daniel provides a philosophy and methodology that will transform my approach to my business in a way that I know will be successful.
This book is a must read for any budding, or indeed seasoned entrepreneur!
"An amazing listen"
The listen is peppered with anecdotes and real life experiences. It opens your eyes (or ears) to what you need to do. I actioned one piece of advice quickly and its starting to show its fruits.
The actionable tasks you need to undertake. So simply and quick to act upon. It makes you realise what you need to do without spelling it out.
Gravitas and depth. Obviously a seasoned professional. He's one of the reasons why i went straight back to the beginning after finishing. A very warm deep voice.
When i followed one of the tasks and got an immediate response from it.
Listen to it more than once.
